Dear Mom,
Things haven't been going so good here. The Team Rocket Kid... his Pokemon attacked some humans. Or were attacked by some humans. They're in the center and one of the people is in the hospital and I don't even know how it came to that. Things are just getting worse and worse. More and more of us are being hurt. I think another Pokemon got taken to the center, and six of the students and staff were... I don't want to talk about it. I'll send you the newspaper article, because this is definitely going to end up in the paper.
I don't know what to do. I... think I really don't understand the way people and Pokemon work here. Back home, it's easy. I know all Pokemon want to be your friend, but I still know they're Pokemon. If you barge into their territory or scare them they'll bite you. I know a trainer's job is to love their Pokemon, to help their Pokemon be stronger, and to protect their Pokemon from the bad stuff. If this had happened at home... the Team Rocket Kid wouldn't have a Venusaur or a Charizard anymore. It's his job to make sure they're never in a situation where they have to do that to a human. Because in Johto, Pokemon are still animals. Because in Johto, Pokemon belong to their trainers.
Here... I'm not sure if it's his job to make sure of that, or if it's the Pokemon's job. You know how much I like having my team out of their pokeballs, but they've always been with me. If they get too upset, I'm right there to hug them, or put them into their balls, or chase the bad thing away. They don't go off their own. They don't go to classes unless I'm going to one. If they wanted to go do that... would I let them? Is it irresponsible, or is it letting them make their own decisions? I... There are no bad Pokemon. Only bad trainers. I'm always saying that, so... do I think the Team Rocket Kid is a bad trainer for letting this happen?
...I think I'm a little bit disappointed by all of them. This isn't how heroes are supposed to act.
If any of my team asked to go out alone right now... I definitely wouldn't let them. I don't want anything to happen. I'm scared, Mom. I think everyone's scared. I don't know what to do to make it better yet, but... I'm gonna keep doing what I can. People have forgotten how to walk with Pokemon, but... I think it's something that comes naturally. We'll remember sooner or later. The road I'm taking isn't done yet.
I love you. Say hi to Slugma for me.

Um...
Somebody really smart told me once... walking with Pokemon means that there's no end to the relationship between people and Pokemon.
[She buried her face in Tavi's fur for a moment.]
If any of the Pokemon that don't have trainers... or... anyone that isn't human... if you don't wanna be alone, then... well, I don't think it's smart to be alone. You can come to my room if you want. I have a lot of big Pokemon, so I'm used to it being a little bit crowded. I really don't mind. I hope it's okay, Wendy, but... you're not human either, so... I think having a crowd around will be smart.
...That's all, I guess.
