Henchmen? A wonderful thing. Henchmen who were formerly patients of Arkham? ...a little iffier. Lucidity was a must at certain times, but not always. Sometimes, you just needed some crazy-pants.

Not right now, though. This would need an extra bit of lucid. Kidnapping was one thing. Stealing your own family? Quite another.

God only knew why he'd sent Jane ahead to do scoutwork, then.

Well, scratch that. Sam had no idea why Jonathan had done that. No idea at all.

He didn't know if any of this was a good idea. He didn't exactly feel great about this, about shattering their little family up even more. Leaving John behind. He loved John. Really. Honestly.

Donna was gone. That wasn't suprising. Not really.

John wouldn't agree with anything he wanted to do. Not any of it. He didn't know about Elizabeth, not honestly. But he was nearly 100% certain that nothing good would come of John being entangled with this.

If he were more honest with himself, he'd admit that he'd have brought John if Donna was still around. He'd have brought her as well.

Some had been left behind. Some by choice. Upsetting, but at least John wouldn't be totally left alone.

This was better.

It was better this way.

It had to be better this way.
