So, I started writing something. & it was the first time in probably two or three years that I'd tried to write lyrics, which is such a long time for me. & perhaps it was due to that very fact that it'd been so long that I forgot to save it ( Read more... )

I'm not technical enough to tell you how to get it back now but in case it happens again, ctrl + z is the undo function in word (don't know if it's the same for wordpad) and it puts back the last thing that was on the page whether you saved or not.
That sucks though. I did something similar with a job application I was working on last week. It had taken me ages to get to the point where I could actually think of what to say and one of my cats was annoying me to be fed so I closed word down and hit no to saving the changes instead of yes. Like with you, I realised immediately after the fact.

sadly undo only works if she had opened the file furst and delteted everything :( savign over the fil it'self witha blank file is not somethign it saves a backup of, most poeple don't unsave teh documnet....

Yeah, haha, only I would do something - twice - that is completely & entirely irretrievable like that. You can bet on that.

I've done worse, I once blew up a computer (when I was 5) with out even trying... and deleting fiels that shoudl be kept is easy enough to do.

Maybe those lyrics weren't meant to be heard just yet. You'll find them again. Just try not to look for them.
