1. Describe the character's height and build. Is he heavyset, thin, short, rangy? Come on, guys, just go look at a screenshot of him or something. :| But uh as far as not immediately obvious details go, I'd say he's about average height for his age and skinny as a rail.

2. How old is he? uhhhhh I think he was 14 when I apped him, but then he had his birthday, so I guess he's 15 now!

3. Describe his posture. Does he carry himself well or does he slouch? He doesn't slouch, but he doesn't walk around like he's on top of the damn world either. This does depend on his mood, though, I think. At least, that's how I picture it. XD

4. How is his health? Is he fit or out of shape? Any illnesses or conditions? Any physical disabilities? He has a mild case of LEG COMPLETELY MISSING. :| Which, even with the prosthetic, does make walking/running a bit of a hassle. Aside from that, he's pretty healthy and uh...average fitness? XD I have no idea, man, dude can lift some pretty big hammers and shit, although not that well...I think he's just a weak pansy in comparison to huge-ass vikings. XD

5. How does he move? Is he clumsy, graceful, tense, fluid? HICCUP IS. THE MOST GRACEFUL MOTHERFUCKER. TO EVER WALK THIS EARTH.

Okay no in all seriousness he's a little clumsy. THe prosthetic does not help this at all. But he's actually a lot less clumsy than you'd expect! He trips, but can usually catch his balance before he falls over or something and just keeps going. So...I guess in that way he's fluid?

6. How attractive is this character physically? How does he perceive himself in the mirror? GO LOOK UP A SCREENSHOT AND DECIDE FOR YOURSELF. And what does that second question even mean, uh. I guess he thinks he looks decent? I dunno, dude. o_o

10. Does the character have any other noteworthy features? Okay, this one I'm answering because this is RP-canon, not actual-canon. It's not immediately obvious, but he's got kind of a nasty, massive burn scar along the left side of his neck/upper back/shoulder/that general area.

okay, if someone explains this question to me, I'll gladly edit and answer this, but right now I am. Kind of. Baffled.

12. What is the character's wardrobe like? Casual, dressy, utilitarian? Bright colors, pastels, neutrals? Is it varied, or does he have six of the same suit?
Outside of the school uniform, his clothes are made largely for practicality, not so much looking nice. They are warm for Berk's ass-cold seasons and are mostly earthy colors due to the sorts of dyes and furs they have (which doesn't explain Astrid's light blue shirt, but HEY, I DON'T PLAY ASTRID, SO). And I'd say he doesn't have many clothes at all because hey, vikings don't have mass-produced clothes. So that outfit he wears throughout the whole movie? Probably one of a very limited selection.

13. Do his clothes fit well? Does he seem comfortable in them? I think he's pretty comfortable in his clothes, yes. And they do fit him, although I think that fur vest is a bit too big. DUDE IS PRACTICALLY SWIMMING IN THAT THING. XD

14. Does he dress the same on the job as he does in his free time? If not, what are the differences? Uhhhh...he wears the school uniform when he's "on the job"? I imagine he's less comfortable in those than in his regular garb, because of the difference in material, color, production, etc. etc. but hey, he's been here a year. He must be getting used to it by now.

Speech
1. What does this character's voice sound like? High-pitched, deep, hoarse? GO WATCH THE TRAILER OR SOMETHING.

OR JUST FIND A CLIP OF JAY BARUCHEL TALKING. Dude just uses his regular voice for him, I swear.

2. How does he normally speak? Loud, soft, fast, evenly? Does he talk easily, or does he hesitate? GO WATCH THE TRAILER. :| Dude talks at a pretty normal volume and rarely raises his voice. He is skilled in the ways of sarcasm, so he's deadpan quite often. And he talks both easily and hesitantly! And, I guess, rather quickly? Because he talks faster than he can pick out the right words (I think he's a lot more visual-minded than language-minded, which could explain why the dude can create prosthetic fins with barely any reference but is infinitely worse at actually saying things), which causes him to slip up and start rephrasing himself halfway through a sentence.

3. Does the character have a distinct accent or dialect? Any individual quirks of pronunciation? Any, like, you know, verbal tics? As mentioned before: the rephrasing. Aside from that, he has an American accent despite being from what is most likely the equivalent of Iceland where all the adults have Scottish accents. :|

4. What language/s does he speak, and with how much fluency? HAHAHAHA. I have no idea how to answer this...I'd say like the entire world speaks English, and so does he, to solve the language barrier at D_A, but that would kind of make Milo's job totally moot. XD So I'm gonna say he knows both English or whatever is spoken at D_A and Old Norse. (The latter is never used unless specifically brought up. Ahem. << >>)

5. Does he switch languages or dialects in certain situations? Nope!

6. Is he a good impromptu speaker, or does he have to think about his words? It depends. He's a bit of a dreadful liar, so when he stops making a lot of sense, you can tell he's hiding something. If he's caught off-guard or distracted or stressed or something, the same happens. But if it's a serious conversation, he's pretty good at talking. Sometimes even very good at it.

7. Is he eloquent or inarticulate? Under what circumstances might this change? See above. In a lot of cases he's horrendously inarticulate. Even when he's not he might be saying things in a very roundabout manner, making examples and points and using sarcasm when it perhaps isn't a very good idea. But if shit is really serious and he really needs to get someone's attention, he can be very eloquent and clear.

Mental and Emotional
1. How intelligent is this character? Is he book-smart or street-smart? Uhhhh how are we defining those terms? Basically, there's no denying Hiccup is very smart. I'm not sure how much actual education he's had (probably very little before D_A) but he just gets how things work. Mostly. He still makes mistakes, but he always seems to at least be on the right path with, for example, his inventions and whatnot. I think he largely learns by doing, not by reading things out of a book, so I guess he's more street-smart? Uh.

2. Does he think on his feet, or does he need time to deliberate? Always thinking on his feet. A Magnificent Bastard he is not. But he's very good at thinking on his feet, given that he's ridiculously impulsive and usually jumps into things with not that much of a plan at all. He makes it up as he goes along.

3. Describe the character's thought process. Is he more logical, or more intuitive? Idealistic or practical? I think he acts on an intuitive gut instinct and then directs those actions logically based on the gut instinct. He's also, I think, slightly on the idealistic side. Not that much, but just a bit--not so much that he doesn't heavily weigh the practical side of things, but enough to override it a lot of the time.

4. What kind of education has the character had? Outside of D_A? PROBABLY NOT THAT MUCH AT ALL. Enough to know how to work the forge and whatnot. Enough to know how weaponry is used/built (but not how to actually, successfully use any of it). Surviving Dragon Attacks 101. He's very much self-taught when it comes to anything else.

5. What are his areas of expertise? What, if anything, is he interested in learning more about? Inventing all sorts of contraptions and using his skills in the forge to create them. Applied physics (especially in the case of RIDING A DRAGON AND HELPING KEEP IT AIRBORNE). And he is all kinds of super fascinated and intrigued by electricity and how it's used. The day he learns how to build machinery is the day you should all run.

6. Is he an introvert or an extrovert? UHHHHHH FFFFFT. I'd say he's mostly introverted, largely because that's just what he's used to. But he does enjoy interaction with others and all that stuff! He's just not accustomed to it, I guess.

7. Describe the character's temperament. Is he even-tempered or does he have mood swings? Cheerful or melancholy? Laid-back or driven? oh gosh. How do I even... Hiccup is pretty even-tempered. He isn't really prone to outbursts of anything, and when they happen, they pass very quickly and then he's just awkward again. XD Given recent events, he is definitely, definitely on the melancholic side. He just usually ignores it. Or covers it up in copious amounts of sarcasm. He's also neither laid-back nor driven. He might have been at one point, but now he's more just...beaten.

8. How does he respond to new people or situations? Is he suspicious, relaxed, timid, enthusiastic? It really depends on the new person/situation! But for people, I think he's largely relaxed. And for situations...he's willing to try new things out within reason. If he has no choice and he doesn't like it, he'll just suck it up and deal. ...Okay, he might complain a little. But he'll deal!

9. Is he more likely to act, or to react? React. He doesn't really do anything definitive unless circumstances demand it.

10. Which is his default: fight or flight? Flight. Something or someone has to convince him to do otherwise.

11. Describe the character's sense of humor. Does he appreciate jokes? Puns? Gallows humor? Bathroom humor? Pranks? Hiccup...is not really a humorous dude. I mean, he is, but that's because of his sarcasm, which isn't so much his sense of humor so much as how he deals with a lot of things. But he's not really the type to intentionally make jokes.

12. Does the character have any diagnosable mental disorders? If yes, how does he deal with them? UHHHH NOT THAT I KNOW OF. After all the shit I've done (and will do) to him, though, he might be leaning towards PTSD... << >>

13. What moments in this character's life have defined him as a person? Spending, uh, the vast majority of his life as "Hiccup the Useless." Meeting Toothless and defeating the Green Red SIX-EYED SATAN. All this bullshit with the mist--particularly his experiences in it (kidnapped or otherwise).

14. What does he fear? At this current point in time? Becoming useless again. (HEY ASTRID, LET'S BE FEAR BUDDIES!) In particular, that he's useless without Toothless. [/rhyme] Other than that, he's pretty fucking terrified of Six-Eyed Satan now, after getting his leg chomped by her once and getting killed because of her twice, both in very unpleasant ways.

Also, HLJ. He is a little bit glad that he can never actually meet HLJ, because he does not think he would survive that encounter.

15. What are his hopes or aspirations? Finding Toothless and making sure he's safe. Aside from that? He wants to find a way to get rid of this stupid mist one way or another so that all the Berkis (dragons included) can go back home. And, y'know, everyone else who got screwed by the mist.

16. What is something he doesn't want anyone to find out about him? Do you see question 14? Yeah. That. Relatedly, he'd like to keep whatever happened when he was mistnapped (and its redux when the school got mistfucked) to himself. And--okay, you know what? If it's related to something that happened to him in the mist, he'd really rather avoid that. Completely.

Relationships
1. Describe this character's relationship with his parents. Never really had one with his mother--either she died in childbirth, or she died when he was too young to remember her. His relationship with his father is one that is well chronicled by the movie and can be summed up as Well Done Son Guy with some I Have No Son before things get patched up.

2. Does the character have any siblings? What is/was their relationship like? None. Which kinda makes it worse, given that the chief only ever had one kid who turned out to be totally useless. XD

3. Are there other blood relatives to whom he is close? Are there ones he can't stand? Not really. Unless we take book canon into consideration and say Snotlout is his cousin. And their relationship was pretty darn strained until recently. (Now Hiccup gets hero worship from him and it is kinda creepy.)

4. Are there other, unrelated people whom he considers part of his family? What are his relationships with them? DAVE AS THE ROLE OF FATHER. ASTRID IN THE ROLE OF MOTHER. Okay, but seriously. Dave is a total bro. The best bro. And not just because he and Dave are pretty much the exact same person. Also Gobber! Who, for most of Hiccup's life, acted as a less intimidating father substitute for him.

5. Who is/was the character's best friend? How did they meet? Uhhhhh. Dave? XD HE'S BOTH A BRO AND A BFF, OKAY. THAT'S JUST HOW IT IS!! And they met when Hiccup L. Jackson threw a flaming bus of nuns at him and broke his foot.

6. Does he have other close friends? Mulan. Elizabeth. Audrey until he fucked things up by FORGETTING HER.

He's not exactly the most outgoing, but he knows how to interact with people, so he generally gets along fine. Also, a lot of people find him ridiculously adorkable, so there's an extra bonus on the friend-o-meter!

I mean, he's never been shown as anything other than heterosexual (or even Astrid-sexual, for that matter), but I don't think he'd be terribly averse to homosexuality if he found himself attracted to a dude. (Cultural noooooorms, hell yeah.) As for whether he would be attracted to a dude...I dunno, man. That depends on what sort of CR he gets. *shrug*

1. Do you know your character's astrological (zodiac of choice) sign? How well does he fit type? As far as I know, he does not have a canon birthday. I did, however, choose one for him (based on "viiiiibe", so let's see if my vibe matches up with the zodiac!) I put him down as February 23rd, which makes him a Pisces! Which...doesn't fit entirely, but decently, from what I've read. So I guess that reflects well on my birthday vibes? XD

2. Is this character religious, spiritual, both, or neither? How important are these elements in his life? Uhhhhhh what's the difference between religious and spiritual? Either way, Hiccup, like other vikings, believes in all the Norse mythology stuff. Not very strongly though. He knows it and all, but for the most part, he just focuses on his own, mortal life and doesn't ever really bring them up outside of casual conversation.

3. Does this character have a personal code of morals or ethics? If so, how did that begin? What would it take to compromise it? Uhhhh? His morals are pretty straightforward and standard. Try not to kill or harm unless absolutely necessary. Fish Dragons are friends, not food enemies. Etc. etc. What changes those rules are obvious indications that they don't apply any more. i.e., mistfucked dragons are pretty clearly undeterrable enemies that are more than capable of killing him, so in that case Hiccup would fight for his life and kill a dragon if he had to.

4. How does he regard beliefs that differ from his? Is he tolerant, intolerant, curious, indifferent? Tolerant and curious. He doesn't mind different beliefs, but he'd like to know how and why they differ.

5. What prejudices does he hold? Are they irrational or does he have a good reason for them? Not...any that I can really think of immediately? He's not really a prejudiced guy...

Daily Life
1. What is the character's financial situation? Is he rich, poor, comfortable, in debt? By Viking standards, I'd say he's on the wealthier side, if not outright rich, what with being the chief's kid and all. I have no idea how that wealth would translate to non-Viking society, though.

2. What is his social status? Has this changed over time, and if so, how has the change affected him? OH BOY, HAS IT. He used to be famous on Berk as the useless waste of space kid which he would try and disprove only to give people more reason to call him useless. It was a very frustrating, disheartening, vicious cycle. This has been fixed post-movie, and he is now regarded as a brave hero. Which is better, but still kind of weird for him, because I don't think he really sees himself as the brave hero a whole lot of Berkis see him as now--he sees himself as more of a guy who is willing to do stupid and crazy shit for his BFF.

3. Where does he live? House, apartment, trailer? Is his home his castle or just a place to crash? What condition is it in? Does he share it with others? Nowadays? The school dorms. He's got a double room to himself (I think!) It's mostly clean, but any flat surface that isn't the floor is scattered in papers, ranging from homework assignments to drawings to invention designs/schematics and whatnot.

4. Besides the basic necessities, what does he spend his money on? He has money?! I kid. XD Uh, probably some books, including a sketchbook. Writing utensils (both to use and marvel at. "HOW DID THEY SURROUND ALL THIS GRAPHITE WITH WOOD LIKE THAT???")

5. What does he do for a living? Is he good at it? Does he enjoy it, or would he rather be doing something else? He goes to school. :| I imagine he enjoys certain aspects of it, but he wishes it was more hands-on instead of staring at a board and getting lectured. And in the classes where it is hands-on, he wishes he wasn't taking at all because he is fairly certain that JROTC is the worst thing he could possibly be doing. XD

6. What are his interests or hobbies? How does he spend his free time? Guy likes forge stuff. Building in the forge in general and whatever's related to it. He is working through more advanced building stuff and is trying to work out mechanical shit and probably trying to improve things that don't need improving. XD Also, flying, but he can't really do that so much now without Toothless. ALSO, he is not bad at the seafaring scallywag thing! Doesn't do it much, but he's pretty good at it! XD

7. What are his eating habits? Does he skip meals, eat out, drink alcohol, avoid certain foods? I am fairly certain vikings did not have age restrictions on booze, so he doesn't mind having some of that sometimes. Doesn't skip meals and he's not terribly picky about what he eats, although he will be a little reluctant to try foods he is not familiar with. (WHICH IS A LOT.) Otherwise, he doesn't need to eat that much and doesn't eat very quickly (he prefers to futz with it first.)
