Might be, but that is still some shocking working there. Got to admit it gets your attention if you do the ratio's and statistical shit I can post it here. Much love
Of course that doesn't include deaths due to IED's or other means besides firearms. Nor does it go into total body count due to firearm violence in Iraq (US Troops, Iraqi Troops, and Iraqi Civilians). One could also factor in the ammount of Troops & Civilians perminatly disfigured or disabled as a result of the exchanges between US/Iraqi forces and the insurgency.
Well IF we included the other methods of distruction we would have to counter with attacks in Washington DC in the same. That means many other things like attack on home soil and violence involving knives and base ball bats. And then the disfigurment of home spun Washingtonians.
It doesn't go both ways, because even with the adjustments you proposed your analogy doesn't hold up. Now, if you were to rephrase it to being:
1) US Solders shot & killed in DC Vs. US Solders shot & killed in Baghdad 2) Police Officers shot & killed in DC Vs. US Solders shot & killed in Baghdad 3) Total lives lost to gunfire in Iraq Vs. Total lives lost to gunfire in DC.
...and so on, then you might be able to make a solid argument. Your original comparison is between US TROOPS vs DC CIVILIANS. It isn't even apples and oranges, it's comparing fruit to vegetables.
Never mind the fact that we should have never been in Iraq in the first place.
::Slaps dave:: that was the point I was trying to make with humor. Nevermind Dave, I think the point was lost in the translation. But i get a bonus point for working out the ratios. so BLAH bite me LOL
