I just realized, since vulcans are generally three times stronger than human norm, that means their muscles have to be three times as dense and they'd sink like a rock (or for that matter, an orangutan) in water.

but there are other factors to consider. blood density? bone density? admittedly, their increased muscle density might make it more difficult, but i don't think it's impossible.
