I've most certainly had better mornings than this one turned out to be...

It would seem I was completely wrong.

The girl has gotten involved after all, and she now carries one of the most powerful curses I've ever seen. ...In that she's now an old woman.

Apparently her name is Sophie. And the Witch packaged her with a nice little love letter to give me as well, knowing the girl would go straight to me for help. ...Which ( Read more... )

a ninety-year-old-woman eh...?, wasn't good for the table at all, sophie, a hot bath sounds rather nice, she's made herself our cleaning lady, war..., how i do hate scorch marks, witch of the waste, blast those idiots

It's gone and accumulated into several of them, yes.

I can say for a fact that I've had better mornings.

Thank you, Mr. Mustang. I truly do appreciate your offer.

I'll be sure to keep it in mind, but for the meantime I want to see if I can take care of this on my own.

What, did you break her heart or something?

Well, I think it's a combination of that and the fact that I...hm. Insulted her, I suppose. If that's the right term.

You could say she's been out to get me ever since.

What'd you say?

Gotta be careful with women~ Never know who'll throw a curse at you.

Well, it's not so much what I said as what I did. Which was to leave and never look back once, after I found out what she was truly like. I still don't regret that in the least.

But yes, women are terribly difficult to gauge. She's got a grudge against me now, and she isn't going to stop until she gets what she wants from me.

What kind of letter is that?

A love letter.

Or at least, by her standards, at any rate. It was supposed to be burned into the palm of my hand.

That's one way of putting it.

But fortunately, protective charms aren't entirely useless things. I only received a small part of the spell, while the rest of it ended up ingrained in the table. At the very least, it was relatively easy to remove.

But though the mark is gone, the influence of the spell is still there...
