--THE ESSENTIALS--

How do you feel about 4th wall breaking?:
I'm all for it!

Is there something specific that you don't want anyone to know about your character?:
Nooot particularly. As long as their knowledge makes sense (i.e. they actually have a reason for knowing), I'm pretty okay with anything. ^^ Can't think of any specifics at the moment, anyways...

How do you feel about threadjacking?:
/thumbs-up

What about spamming your posts?:
/readies inbox first-aid kit

Bring it oooon~ 8D

How about sudden action threads?:
As long as they're even mildly sensible, go right on ahead~ 8)

--THE CHARACTER--

Name:
Howl Jenkins Pendragon

What species is your character?:
Howl is quite plainly human, for all pretenses towards anything else. A wizard, true - but still a human.

Is there anything strange in your character's blood, DNA, etc that other characters might be able to sense?:
L-lol well.

While Howl is completely human in and of himself, he has a few…physical anomalies that have been predominantly self-inflicted, and will remain long-term until they are somehow fixed.

Most importantly, Howl does not have a heart. This entails that he has no pulse, and to the touch he will also feel quite cold. However, he’s kept alive by a complex system of magic in his body, generated by the contract he made with a fire demon named Calcifer when the wizard gave him said missing heart. This system keeps the blood moving in his body and so on so forth - and, because more than half of this magic carries Calcifer’s influence, demonic traces could very well be picked up from Howl’s general being.

What does your character's soul look like?:
Shiny but tarnished, like a coin covered with a layer of dust held up to a torch light. His soul is really colored a deep, rich gold under all that grime, though.

Is it possible to read anything from your character's soul?:
Definitely! Ah, but oh boy…

Howl is…a very complicated sort of man. |D; He soul is likely full of contrasts and contradictions, oftentimes of the fickle and utterly nonsensical sort, with his surprisingly good qualities sitting right alongside or even overlapping his amazingly bad ones.

It’s a jumbled mess.

You get an impression of self-assurance, confidence, charm and cleverness, with the whimsical streak common to all wizards permeating everything. But then, blended in all that, you get a surprisingly profound sense of uncertainty and regret, aloofness and loneliness - and an awful, pining sort of craving for something he knows he’ll never have, now.

It doesn’t take long at all to realize that he’s cowardly, terribly lily-livered, the sort that absolutely hates jeopardizing his own self-preservation - and yet, at the same time, he has a redeeming sort of strength of will, a resolution to do what’s right when he can, if he can. He can be courageous, in his own odd sort of way…he even has a strict personal code of morals, even if he doesn’t like what they require to uphold, sometimes.

He seems selfish and even narcissistic, but overall? He really does have a good heart, nonexistent even as it is. After all, his soul is truly just an old coin covered in dust - and all you really have to do is get out a napkin and rub away some of the dirt, peer a little closer, to get a glimpse of what’s actually there just underneath.

Does your character have an ability that others might be able to sense?:
Howl is your typical western wizard, with all the abilities the profession entails: he can brew potions, make fantastical objects and devices, and work spells, charms, illusions and curses with varying levels of potency. Not to mention he’s really quite skilled at his occupation. Magically-inclined characters would probably be able to pick up on anything that he’s imbued with magic in general - and, if they’re particularly tuned to this sort of thing, they might also notice that said magic carries the same demonic traces courtesy of Calcifer that can also be found in his body. In the Thor (and effectively separated from Calcifer), Howl has reverted more dependency back to his own magic, but he still draws on Calcifer’s vague, still-present influence out of habit.

Is your character surrounded by something else that might somehow 'stick'?:
Howl would likely be…well, saturated in magic himself - his body is by now pretty dependent on it, and he even dyes his hair with spells. :| It wouldn’t quite be like an aura of energy, so to speak, but rather an impression to those that can sense it - kinda like how you notice a person wearing a heavy perfume.

On the subject of perfumes! Howl naturally smells like a musty fireplace to those with heightened olfactory senses, but he usually heavily overlays this with whatever floral scent he happens to fancy wearing at the time - so that the result is something reminiscent of incense, or perhaps burning potpourri.

Can your characters thoughts be read?
LOL yeeeep~ surface thoughts most especially, though it’s possible to delve deeper without too much trouble. Howl is a relatively clever man in all the right ways, but his thought processes aren’t really anything particularly remarkable. XD; There’ll likely be this constant side-jumble of weird musings following his thoughts everywhere, though, consisting of general magic lore. Howl is a successful wizard for a reason, and it’s become a sort of default tendency for him to be thinking about spellwork constantly. His subconscious is always working on tying up the loose ends of some newly-devised incantation, or puzzling through a magic riddle, or running logistics and calculations about how this thing will change into that thing in some-so amount of time….etcetc. Really, none of it will usually make much sense, unless your person happens to be a similarly-oriented wizard as well. It’ll be like background static more than anything. /o/

Is it possible to communicate with your character through telepathy?:
Yup! He’s not a particularly telepathic sort himself, so to speak, but he can receive just fine. Not to say he’s ever entirely comfortable with it, though. The notion of others poking about in his head is one of the many things that make him cringe terribly. Needless to say, he’s very leery about it.

Is it possible to see what your character is doing through psychic powers?:
Ah, this is a bit tricky…

Canon renders me unsure of it, but considering how well-versed in magic lore Howl is, and how busy I’ve had him be these past months, it’s only reasonable to say that he’s already taken a few default measures against this sort of spying.

Most importantly, it’ll be most difficult to get a scope on him when he’s in his room. Or, to be more precise, his bedroom, wherein he’s settled in quite nicely and has various magic devices sitting/hanging/dangling everywhere. He’s set a few notable layers of basic misdirection charms, repulsion spells, and things to that extent in the area, as a common-sense precaution befitting respectable paranoid wizards. They aren’t terribly blatant or flashy, either, but they do their jobs. So basically, if you were to try spying on him in his room via crystal ball or something, you’d get a scrambled connection, indistinct phantom images and sounds, or turn up blank altogether. On top of that, Howl will also be made aware of the fact that you’re trying to peep on him almost the moment you make an attempt - he’s also got a few small devices that make alerting motions when invasions like this come to attention.

When he’s out of the room, it’s much easier to tune in on him, of course - he can’t carry all that crap with him everywhere, after all. Still, he’s probably got a few accessories promoting mild protection against things of this nature on his person, and he may or may not notice that you’re stalking him. :| Creeper.

Aaaall this tl;dr being said, do poke me before setting a scope on him, if you would~ That way, we can sort out the fine details accordingly. ^^

Is it possible to sense your character's location somehow?:
Sure! If you can detect magic or personal auras or something like that especially. Apart from that, though, you could just as easily use a dog - he’s still predominantly human and all.

Is it possible to sense your character's emotions?:
Sure you would - except that your char might be baffled to find that Howl doesn’t have any. 8D; Thanks to the distinct absence of a certain vital organ, Howl’s reactions to things emotion-wise are almost entirely comprised of simple body-memory - he can’t actively feel them anymore, at best very vague flickers here and there. This is what leads to the overreactions he sometimes has to minor things, his drama and tantrums. Similarly to if you tried moving an extremely numb leg, Howl sometimes loses the sense of depth and quantity when it comes to how much or how little he should respond to things…and, if he’s not thinking about it, or simply doesn’t care, those responses easily get blown out of proportion. Oftentimes ridiculously so.

At best, you’d pick up faint traces of feelings off of him, but they’re so vague that it’s immediately clear something’s wrong. :| Not to mention, he’s completely and utterly incapable of feeling love, so such notions as affection would be especially dampered. D:

Does your character have any mental walls or defenses up?:
It’s a bit weird - to speak fairly plainly, Howl doesn’t have any specified walls or mental protection set up in his head at all, since he doesn’t really know how. However, if you’re in there, and he notices, and he doesn’t want you in there (which is likely gonna be the case most of the time, l-lol)…I’d say he’d put up a surprisingly good fight. He’s got a few spells that can deal with these sort of things - or at least make it a hell of a lot harder to get a good grasp on his brain, hurr - so it’ll really all depend on who’s poking in there. The better or more powerful the invader is at it, the less resistance he’s gonna be able to throw at ya. :|

It also may feel a bit…surreal, if somebody were to try poking through his memories and general thoughts and all. His rather emotionless state probably throws things into very sharp definition in there, so that his head’s actually…pretty clear, almost uncomfortably so. Like walking into a silent, cold, completely white room. By contrast, trying to sift through his memories would be like drifting through a misty haze of watercolors - everything would be bright, but indistinct, all blurry lines and distant sounds.

Can your character be mind-controlled?:
Iiii’ll say yes, in this case. /o/ Howl’s mindscape is really a fairly simple one, when you get down to it - not entirely difficult to invade and hijack accordingly. Not that he’s gonna be happy about it, though. 8| He’ll be fighting and taking the courses of actions stated above the whole way through. Duration of said mind control would also depend on the administrator, there again~

Is it okay to approach you about hacking private threads? Alternatively, how technologically gifted is your character?
Sure, sure~ Howl’s line of expertise isn’t so much in electric appliances as it is in the physical mechanics of things, so his proficiency with computers doesn’t…really amount to much at all. He’s got the basics down - activating video and voice features, and even typing, to some extent - but he’s still in the process of learning how to private threads, let alone securely. I’d say that, once he does, they’d be pretty easy to bust open anyways~ Still, always good to let me know before you do, dear! ^^

Has your character died before? Can other characters pick up on this?
Nope!

--THE FIGHT--

Is he/she a capable fighter?:
In a good old fisticuff? I’ll be blunt - absolutely not. |D; Howl is…not a very physical sort of man, you see. His tendency towards avoiding every little conflict that floats his way makes getting into fights a very low priority for him, and when the prospect of a fight is impossibly imminent he’ll be spending a lot more of his energies trying to get away as opposed to actually sticking around and going through with it. XDXD Sure, he can throw a punch just as well as the next guy, but it’s nothing remarkable. In the physical strength department he’s pretty far down there, really.

On the other hand, Howl is a wizard. One of the most skilled of his generation, in fact. And, if he actually ever works up the pluck to do it, he can and will put up a very good fight. Or at least make it screwy as hell. /o/ He’s taken on whole armadas of airborne warships in the past, without too terribly much of a repercussion. The extent and variety of his abilities spread widely - he can do anything from illusions to telekinesis to outright attacks, like striking you down with a bolt of lightning or something. Though he doesn’t like doing it, he can break out some very nasty curses, too - though he’s only gonna do that if especially provoked, or given a very good reason.

Of course, for all of this to matter, you’ve actually gotta hedge him into fighting at all…… XDD

Can I punch/cut/shoot/hit with a car/stab/HURT IN GENERAL?:
Sure you can~ All the merrier if you can catch him first. 8) Just nothing permanently altering, if you would~ Severed arms and such, ne?

Can I kill him/her?:
No, not usually. If I’m planning to drop him, or if he can be revived, this may be a possibility! But it’d need a very hearty dose of plottage first, of course~

In terms of winning and losing, where would you rather they stand?:
Howl himself could care less - he’d much rather never get into a fight at all. XDD I, on the other hand, really have no preference; sure, Howl could easily be a force to be reckoned, but he’s not the most powerful guy on the block by a long shot, so any confrontation could go either way. All depends on who’s fighting who, what, where, why, and how!

Would you rather fade to black and just assume what happened?:
Sure! Everybody gets tired XD And I tend to be a very slow tagger sometimes, so this may be necessary at some points /o/

--THE LOVE--

So, can I fall in love with him/her?:
Lol sure~ 8D In all honesty I wouldn’t blame your character in the least, really, seeing as he’s…well, Howl. :| Now, if Howl brought about this affection himself, by his own efforts, then the chances are spectacularly high that he’s gonna break your char’s heart very soon afterwards - just as a warning! He’s always yearning after love, but Howl is terrible at commitment, and…it’s sort of physically impossible for him to reciprocate anyways, no matter how hard he tries. ;; Unless you happen to be Sophie Hatter, this sort of affection will usually be all but doomed, I’m afraid.

Can I hit it?:
LOL well…some warning first would be very nice. :D;; Usually I’d have to say no, in this case - Howl’s from a Victorianesque sort of era, methinks, so even he’d be fairly prudent about these sort of things. But, then again, I highly doubt he’s a virgin, either. :| Sooo, all down to circumstance, I suppose~

Can I kiss him/her?:
Absolutely! He might ask for one on occasion, even. >.>’ In the most charmingly polite way possible, of course.

What's his/her orientation anyway?:
Straight. /o/

Are you willing to play out any relationships?:
I’m not wonderful with them, and unless you’re Sophie it’ll require a few million years of CR as per course, but I might be up to it! ^^

And with castmates?:
As stated above~ ♥
