Thoughts on Batman

I just watched Batman again (DON'T JUDGE ME) and I can't believe how much I love it. It's everything I want, portrayed in such a perfect medium. If I wanted to scrutinize it, I'm sure I could find flaws, but why bother ( Read more... )

I also loved the movie. I did find some flaws in plot, but they're totally excusable because it was a comic book movie.

Other than that, wouldn't you think that Batman, of all people, would know if Harvey was dead or not? And what about the coroner? Sorry to shoot down your hopes... but at least you still have Christian "hotness" Bale as the Batman :D

Excuse me, Dream Killer, but it seemed to me that at the end of the movie, the only thing we know for sure is that Gotham believes Harvey dead. All Batman said was that Gotham couldn't know what he'd done, not necessarily that he was gone. In fact, the only concrete proof we have that Harvey died was the funeral in the end, which didn't have a casket (that we could see) or anything other than Gordon making a speech in front of a giant poster. So hah.

On another note, I'm deeply sorry about Sean. I hope he recovers well. How are you doing? Splendidly?

Hahah, I'm actually doing rather well, given everything that's been going on. It's kind of nice.

I kind of felt like the whole Harvey Dent thing was too rushed... I think they could have spent a lot more time developing his insanity... as it was, I guess he didn't really pop as much as a character for me, so I didn't really mind when he died... yes, died :P anyway... I would have loved to see a whole two-face movie... that would be awesome... so if they bring him back and flesh out the story more, I'm sure I'll enjoy it.

Sean seems alright, he doesn't like being in the box... but it's for the best. At least he's still purring :)

Did you really like the end of Avatar? I thought the last few episodes were some of the weakest in the series (though I did enjoy pieces of it.)

I think Avatar finished Aang's story, which was what it was all about. It's sad we didn't get more of the other characters, but I believe that the season finale was epic. Unlike most people, I enjoy an ending that leaves things still up to chance. Probably the only thing I didn't like much was the happy-go-lucky 'epilogue-ish' part at the end. There's a lot of work to be done to make the world a better place again, but I think they all ended up in places where they have the power to do that.

I think Ember Island Players was a good episode that was shown in the wrong place. The episode right before the 2 hour finale? Uh. No. I think it could've been a better episode with some of the finale things in it, in order to allow a few more of the non-Aang characters to have a better sense of closure.

Overall, including all three seasons, I think Avatar is wonderful, and ended on a good note. Could it have been better? Probably, but I'm satisfied with it.

I guess my major criticism of Aang's storyline is that he didn't seem to have a problem with killing the Firelord up until the last episode. Don't get me wrong, it makes complete sense to me that he would take issue with having to do such a thing, it just bothers me that until the last three hours of the story, it wasn't discussed. To me, it almost felt as if the writers had tried to do something different, and then the networks said "NO YOU DON'T!" and then they had to change course at the last moment.
