[ anakin is silent for a moment. did this girl seriously just go from weather to-- whatever hamburgers were? ...unless hamburgers were a form of weather on her world. he honestly couldn't say. oh, the woes of not being from earth or anything close to it. and he's about to make himself look like an idiot for asking for clarification and running with his assumption. ]

[ that strikes an unpleasant chord in the knight, causing memories of times that were both happier and more miserable to resurface from where he had buried them in an attempt to move on as was the jedi way-- but knowing what the jedi way was and following it had always been two completely different things when it came to anakin skywalker. it wasn't for lack of trying (though there were some things he just didn't put fourth the effort on or blatantly disobeyed, as was evident in him having a secret wife who he desperately missed), there were just some things he found that he just couldn't do.
