He's been traveling anyway on business. When he notices Knight's presence in NYC, he's tempted to simply ignore the man, but brief thought convinces him that wouldn't be the best approach.
He walks inside the building, finds an elevator that leads up to the top floor. A search finds the "employees only" stairway that opens onto the roof. He elects to pick the lock and climb up, rather than do it the quicker way.

Knight picked up his presence long before he reached the roof. Due to the feedback produced by the man, Knight was unable to identify him beyond the fact that he was most likely a member of Michael's family. Nevertheless he would be wary until the person responsible came into view. His hand rested on his merchete despite the most likely uselessness of the action.

And he continued to look out over the city.

He came out onto the rooftop. Spotting Knight, he sighed tiredly, and went to sit on the ledge, looking up at the somewhat cloudy sky
overhead. Despite winter's bitter cold, he wore only a T-shirt, jeans, sneakers.
"No luck on the search?" without preamble. He's not in the mood for chitchat, and suspects Knight isn't either.

The hand slid off the merchete. Gwydyr. But due to his mood the wariness hovered a little.

"Some. Michael's brother knows something." He didn't clarify, waiting to see Gwydyr's reaction.

Then curious. "Why the approach from the stairs?"
