[Vincent sounds tense, maybe something similar to breathless.]
Reno, Vel--Verudo, she's--
[He takes a breath that doesn't seem to help at all.]
She's gone. Lucrecia, she--again. Even after everything...Couldn't change it.
Couldn't stop her.
[Vincent goes quiet for a second, just breathing. In, out. At least he tried this time, right?

Not my project. [Disconnected.]
Dr. Crescent is dangerous.
Jenova, that creature, that MONSTER, was not your mother.
...tried to stop it...even after everything...couldn't change it...
All the lies, all the half-truths, were finally forming a solid picture.
His voice is low, a deep rumbling in his chest, but steady. Very steady. And hard.]
So that is what you were hiding.

That is NOT a good thing.]
I couldn't risk her telling you. She wasn't...stable. She's not--everything I told you she's done was the truth, but she wouldn't have told you. You would have--
[He stops, takes a breath to steady himself, stop tripping over his words.]
I couldn't allow her to warp your perceptions before you knew the truth, and I couldn't let her try to tell you the truth because she didn't know enough to tell it. She would have tried, but she's from before either of our times--she's barely--was barely older than you.
It would have broken you and I...couldn't let that happen. Not after everything else.
[There's a beat of silence.]
...I'm done. Anything you want to know, I will tell you. Regardless.
I'll stop trying to protect you.

...but he was right in the conclusions he'd drawn before getting trapped here.
There was no one to trust.
His tone doesn't change, though it is honed to a razor's edge.]
I am not broken, Valentine. If anything, I finally see.
[A pause of absolute silence.]
I was a fool to trust you...or anyone. It is true, what they say. Knowledge is power. You had my loyalty because you held the truth.
[A beat.]
You hid her from me. You took her from me.
[Yes, he's rambling...yes, Vincent. He's snapping. Good job.]

I didn't take anything from you here, least of all her. I was the one who told you the truth, even knowing what could happen, what did happen when you learned some semblance of it back on Gaia.
[In fact, he hears it so clearly that he is just going to get the hell back to Sephiroth's door and pound on it to get his attention.]
I trusted you to be strong enough for that much, to not have a mind as unstable as your mother's.
[His voice has dipped into a growl, but it takes on an almost pleading tone in spite of that. He gives the door another knock, letting the comm drop. The General will hear him all the same.]
Please, Sephiroth. Don't prove me wrong.

So...she truly is. [Just checked ShipNet. Anna doesn't know how to feel.]

You should be pleased.
[His voice is a bit flat, but there's no bite in it. He understands where Anna was coming from with Lucrecia, and doesn't blame her at all. That doesn't mean he's still not sad she's gone.]

I...suppose...

Shit.
[Of course he double checked ShipNet, what else would that long pause be for?]

...Eloquent.
