As for NYC: Greenwich Villiage... amazing place for bootleg CD stores and random shit, plus its just really cool to hang out there. Also, the fast-food pizza place in the South Street Seaport mall is unbelievable, you can eat it on the outside balcony and there's a really cool view of the Brooklyn Bridge.
