When I took Sociology 101 in university, Paradise Lost was one of the films we watched. I was absolutely astounded that these men (boys) were charged when there was so much evidence pointing towards the one father, and nothing to go on for the boys beyond their music preferences. I do remember watching the second film and thinking that Damien needed to watch his mouth, he is a bit of a smartass and given the predicament he was/is in he should have maybe considered his demeanor a bit better, but hey, he was a teenaged boy. I admittedly hadn't followed up on them in years but I really can't believe they are all still in prison, especially after those films were released. Looks like the local LE doesn't want to admit they were wrong. Very sad.
I know. The whole thing is just a witchhunt. Have you seen the sequel or gone to the website? They're saying now that Terry Hobbs, (I think he was Steve Branch's stepdad) left some hair in a knot used to tie one of the kids up and even John Mark Byers now think that the three are innocent. There's a third movie in the works now, which I can NOT wait to see. I just read "Devil's Knot", which is an even-handed and amazingly well researched and written book on the whole thing. My theory? Chris Byers had severe psychological issues and his neurologist could NOT figure out why the kid wasn't responding to any meds no matter what dose or combo they put him on. The kid was doing stuff like playing with his own poo. Kids don't act like that without neuro trauma unless something very bad is being done to them
