Waiting for the Go-Ahead

Arcee lay on the bnk, only half awake, watching Rachet above her.

"So? Am I good to go, doc?" she looked up, frowning.

"Yes." He puts the override device to her shoulder and activates it, and she can suddenly move.

And feel aaaaaaallll the left over aches and ouches.

She convulsed slightly, then looked up and frowned. "Cool... but... when can I fight again? Get back in the action?" Carry a sparkling....

"Another week before you're back on duty. Give it a couple days before you start trying to increase the local population," he says knowingly.

She blinked and looked at him.

"Can I get up if I take it slow?" she asked hopefully.

//She hasn't even met you yet.// He closes the channel, trusting that she'll follow orders and thus remain within audio range.

Starforge grins and lowers his head for another kiss. "Good."

Arcee kissed him happily. "I can be back on full duty in a week. Other than that I'm completely and 100% good to go," she said, sighing happily. "So what'd I miss?"

"Uh...." He looks up, thinking. "Dunno, I was usually lookin' after you."

"Huh," she said, blinking. "We need to find out...."

[random_xtras]

"No." His arms tighten. "I jes' remembered you complainin' 'bout me pickin' ya up all the time."

That time she was talking to Bee and he wasn't even in the room.

She blinked, then smiled and nuzzled him.

"I was on dope. I like you pickin' me up, 'specially since we got hitched. I wouldn't have it any other way," she said honestly, then kissed him again. "But you know.... maybe you won't always be able to pick me up... you might have someone you wanna carry around more?"

"More 'n you?" He frowns with disbelief, his arms tightening protectively.

"Yeah..." she said softly, touching his cheek. "Like... a little me. Or you. Or us... you know?"

"What is this aft fixation?" Ratchet shakes his head, then gets to his feet and points to the table. "Lay her hear and let's have a look."

Starforge looks down at Arcee.

"Let the old fogey. He knows what he'll get if he messes me up again," she smirked.

"That is enough," growls Ratchet, his optics flashing. "We've got enough threats hanging over our heads without you trying to add more just to seem superior to a superior who did nothing more than keep you from dying!"

Starforge unconsciously stands to attention.

Arcee flinched, looking thoroughly bashed and stunned, then ducked her head, optics fixed on the ceiling.

"Yes sir. Sorry, sir. Didn't mean... sorry, sir," she said very softly, trying not to shiver and laying down very obediantly.

"Starforge didn't fill you in on his condition?" Ratchet hunkers on the other side of her insensate husband and gives him a few raps on the head with his knuckles.

That got her attention.

"What condition?" she said, voice sharper than she meant to as she held his hand close.

"I meant Prime's," he says gently.

[notxpected]

She visibly relaxed, then half nodded. "He said some stuff, I heard some stuff," she said, snuggling Forge's hand and willing him to wake up.
