Awwww youse guys!

Y'all really must have been keeping me in your thoughts!! I've just finished purchasing a new (to me) vehicle, we just rented a GREAT new apartment, and I completed my phlebotomy course with flying colors! Thanks for keeping me on your friends list and keeping me in your prayers even though I'm not on here too much.

Well my car had went ka-put and it was either get a new engine etc. or just get something else. So I looked around and found a great deal on a 1995 Dodge CARAVAN yes that's right folks I'm now a minivan driver and I don't even have three kids one of which plays soccer. Nope, I drive a minivan and I LOVE it. I can put so much shit in there its crazy. It has good gas mileage and the van itself is in great condition with really decent mileage on it. Bring on the roadtrips I'm ready to go.

Our new apartment is the bestest.
Location: It is on 6th Street (off of State Street which is the main street in Bristol) and it is close to almost everything we do. We can walk to the following places: Rod's work, Java J's (coffee shop duh), comic book shop, The Paramount, Ireson's Pub, Stateline Bar, O'Mannins pub, the record store, On 5th (new fancy pants bar but our friends work there), the post office, probably 20-ish antique/pawn shops, bagel shop, pizza parlor, and soon there will be a 7/11 type of grocery place right across from our building, and soon there will be a billiards bar, and soon there will be tons of new stuff 'cause we are right in the middle of downtown and everyone is really into renovating it right now (Bristol is celebrating its 150th this year.)
note: For those of you actually familiar w/ downtown and people we are friends with, our building is right across the street from the building where Allen Brown's studio is; his studio is also in the same building as the infamous "Practice Room". Our apartment is on the opposite side from his studio though. We look out and see either the post office, or the parking lots behind KP Duty and The Paramount.
Details: We're on the second floor and its very recently renovated. We are above some office type spaces but mostly vacant (janitor/storage type) space. Its a one-bedroom, CLEAN (i.e. no ROACHES or MICE EVER) place, very decent-sized (but huge to me compared to the other place we just left). Decent sized living room, a bigger bedroom (but tiny closet), a decent sized bathroom with closet (but no tub, just a shower stall), a big kitchen (big enough for dining room table and chairs) with a big closet, and a huge closet at the end of the hall so plenty of storage space. We have new (as of this past summer) carpet and pergo flooring, miniblinds etc. and our rent is EXTREMELY REASONABLE (i.e. cheap in my opinion for what we are getting/location) and it includes electricity, water, ch&a. (Which will be so nice to keep track of only one bill for that.) Lots of other stuff I won't get into but its the cutest little place ever.
Why we're lucky sons-of-guns: I don't know how we got this place. I mean, we're not talking about a 20-unit apartment building here. There are three. One is occupied by our good friend Scotty and I'm sure that's probably the biggest reason why we got this place; because he recommended us or whatever to the landlord. Speaking of the landlord, he's not a slumlord like the other guy we used to have to deal with! He actually fixes shit if it gets broken, and sprays real bug killer. Look at us, we finally got a break.
Of course its not perfect: You knew there had to be a catch right? Yeah, of course there is. We can't take Raven. It breaks my heart. But my mother (without me even asking!) is willingly going to keep her for us! So we still have her, we just don't live with her.

I made a 105 on my phlebotomy final, and a 97 overall for the entire course. I'm now a certified vampire and I don't have to buy fake teeth online. I will soon begin putting in hours at whatever place will hire me (my teacher, who loved me, just happens to do the interviews for a medical staffing company) and as soon as I can (6-12 months) I will take the test for state certification which means I will make even more $. In the meantime I am hoping to also take a medical assistant class, which is more expensive and longer than the phlebotomy course but the more you know how to do and the more you are certified in, the more you get paid. The next class starts in April and if I have the $ I hope to go ahead and take it.

Other stuff: I am still at Friedman's and things are going well there. I am still at BTS and now that my phlebotomy class is over I'm going to pick up some more hours there but not too many more (like 12-ish more). Rod is still at KP Duty, and still rockin' out. Who knows what's in the future for us? Things are looking okay so far. It doesn't matter, we will get through it together. (Corny enough for ya?)

I love you all!
