[Background]
Go here for his Kingdom Hearts Wikia entry [Personality]He’s intended to be a carbon-copy of Riku, although the Replica is often only seen consistently bitter and angry toward his original, particularly after he’s been used by the Organization. Most often he comes off as a brat with some anger management issues, but he has a few particular moments of benevolence, also. He’s arrogant, stubborn, cocky, prone to jealousy, and pretty much latches on to most of Riku’s negative qualities for the majority of the time we see him. Often he’s of the mentality “fight first, ask questions later,” and his first reactions tend to be to draw his blade rather than think things through. However, when acting on his false memories of being Riku, we see that he can tap into that gentler side as well, mostly toward Namine. Here we see his conviction, rather than brashness; passion, rather than anger. He’s willing to do whatever it takes to keep her safe - to rescue her, his princess held captive in an ivory tower - and it ultimately costs him when he’s about to deliver a final blow to Sora in a fit of rage, and he’s completely broken by the very person he thought he’d sworn to protect. However, even after he is restored and loses the false memories, he still acts on his vow and saves Namine from Marluxia. From this it is clearly seen that even though the memory of the vow was false, it was strong enough to have a lasting imprint - probably because it so thoroughly resonates with Riku’s own values of protecting his friends, which were of course copied in the Replica.
The Replica has a lot of inner turmoil going on. He knows he’s just a copy - and an failed one at that, as he can’t defeat Riku, it destroys the idea that he was made to be a better version of him. It drives him to constantly challenge Riku, as though when he finally does defeat him, he’ll stop being a “Fake” and finally come into his own. As he dies, he’s bitter, and then resigned to his fate. Perhaps he has a momentary connection with Riku when Riku says that their hearts will probably go to the same place. But it’s hard to tell, because like Riku, the Replica doesn’t like to reveal a weakness. He also feels that he has no place beside Sora and Namine because he believes himself to be an insufficient being.
Essentially, he is searching for a sense of self - something to differentiate himself from Riku, even though he looks exactly like him and has all the same capabilities. The Replica wants and needs to grow into his own, but he also seems to feel that in order to do this, he must be able to defeat Riku in battle.
[Specialties/Abilities]He has all of Riku’s abilities from the end of Kingdom Hearts 1 - that is, the ability to summon Soul Eater (not the real Soul Eater, probably, but a clever copy weapon that is just as effective) and use the power of darkness to fight. Mostly he runs around as “dark Riku,” from the time when Riku was possessed by Ansem, Seeker of Darkness (see also: Xehanort’s Heartless). This pretty much means he wears a really silly outfit while playing cards hacking and slashing and occasionally throwing out dark energy attacks. Essentially, the darkness gives him incredible strength and speed and he is a very effective fighter (even though he loses all of his battles, but he is incredibly difficult to beat for both Sora and Riku in the game).
For more information, either drop me a line or it should be in the wikia entry above.
[Affection] He's not a terribly touchy-feely person, and generally would sooner fight you than hug you. The only person he is predisposed to showing open affection/care for is Namine. Most everyone else has to earn it.
[Fighting] As mentioned already before - this kid is fiesty! He will probably challenge a lot of people before he gets put in his place (let's face it - you had to fight him about five or six times in the game, this guy does not learn his lesson). So if anyone wants to school him, just drop me a line. No killing unless it's for really good plot reasons.
[Other Permissions] Please ask before breaking walls, fourth or otherwise. He's not terribly guarded when it comes to magic or mind reading or anything, so it's probably easy to get in when you want. However since he has basically had his heart and memories screwed with on multiple occasions, please shoot me a message before attempting anything terribly mind-invasive.
[Other Facts] His main objective is to someday defeat Riku. Soundly.
He will also need a permanent name, which I will update this info with when he gets one.
