Steep (Chapter 6)
Chapter 6:
Next day…
Yuya woke up late which made jumped out of his bed with a nervousness.
“Oh no! I’m late!!!!” He quickly took a bath and changed his clothes. This wouldn’t have happened if that brat didn’t make me stay up late last night!
He quickly steps out of his room but he stepped on something slippery.
“Whoooaaaa!” then he fell down the floor making his butt ache.
“Argghh!!!!! This is the last abuse I’m receiving from him!” he stood up and stared at the slippery substance applied to the floor parallel to his door.
“That’s it. No more Mr. Nice Guy. I guess I’ll threaten him now.” He went to his office with a disappointed look on his face.
Ryosuke didn’t walk with Yuto and Chinen that morning for the couple makes him feel like an outcaste.
He reached his school early. He sat at his desk waiting for Chinen and Yuto to arrive. He’s now sitting at the desk that Chinen used to sit on so that the couple now sits beside each other and isn’t bothering anyone with their mingling.
He thought about what he had done a while ago. Maybe by now he’s angry like a wolf for slipping. Haha. Let’s see later. He was cut out of his trance with a hit on his head.
“What?!”
“You’re smiling like a demon a while ago. You did something again huh?” Chinen asked him.
“I only did that because he scared me last night.”
“Didn’t you know that he went to my house late last night looking for you? He looked worried. Where have you been?”
“Really?! Well, I went to a manga café and stayed there until 9. When I went home I climbed up a tree to get to my room ‘coz I thought he’ll punch or something…” Ryosuke once again felt guilty.
On their way home, Ryosuke was surprised to see Yuya’s car parked in front of the school gate and waiting for him.
“What the-?” he blurted out and looked at Chinen who looked back at him and said, “You’re dad’s here Ryosuke… Bye!” and he pulled Yuto to continue walking home.
Ryosuke gulped and approached Yuya.
“W-Why did you fetch me?” He nervously asked.
Yuya coldly glanced at him.
“We.need.to.talk.” His tone scared Ryosuke but he had no choice but to sit on the passenger’s seat side.
They drove their way back home quietly and the atmosphere freaks Ryosuke out.
“Do you really hate me that much? Why?” Yuya suddenly asked breaking the silence between them.
Ryosuke didn’t answer and just stared at Yuya.
These made Yuya stop driving and turn his body to face Ryosuke who fidgeted with his sudden movement.
“Speak up!” Yuya shouted at Ryosuke which made him almost cry.
“You crushed my hopes of having a complete family again!” Ryosuke shouted back at Yuya and his tears are now flowing down his face.
“I stayed with my dad because I want to make sure he won’t marry another woman and then suddenly I’ll just know that my mom is married to another guy?!!! I want them to back together!!!!” Ryosuke then boke down in front of Yuya.
Yuya couldn’t say anything about what he heard. Somehow he felt pity towards Ryosuke.
“I-I’m sorry I-“ he tried to say.
He was surprised when Ryosuke hurriedly got out of his car and ran to the other side of the highway.
“Hey! Ryosuke! Wait!”
He ran after Ryosuke. His breath hitched when he realized that a speeding car was about to collide to Ryosuke and this made him ran faster. He pushed Ryosuke off the road and got hit by the car instead then everything went blank.
Ryosuke was shocked when e felt a strong push behind him so he looked back. His eyes widened and he froze at the sight of Yuya’s limp and bleeding body lying on the road. Various screams are heard and a sound of siren approached them.
He crawled to Yuya’s direction. His body was shaking and he don’t know what to do.
“T-Ta-Takaki-kun… Takaki-kun! Wake up!” He held Yuya’s hand and tried to wake him up but to no avail. His hold on Yuya’s cold hand tightens.
The ambulance came not long after and brought Yuya to the nearest hospital. He was immediately brought to the ICU.
Ryosuke was shaking while waiting in front of the ICU. He bagan crying and called Chinen.
“Chi…”
“Hey Ryo-chan!... Ryo-chan what’s wrong? Why are you crying?”
“Takaki-kun got hit by a car and… we’re in the hospital right now…”
“What?! I’ll go over there okay Ryo-chan!”
“Hurry up Chi, I’don’t know what to do….”
“Alright I’ll be there in a flash. Don’t cry okay.”
Soon Chinen and Yuto arrived at the same waiting area and tried to console Ryosuke. Somehow he calmed down but he feels guiltier than ever. This is all my fault.
The red light on the ICU turned off and 2 doctors came out. Ryosuke nervously approached them.
“He’ll be fine. He’s now stable. He just needs to rest, but his left pelvis is broken and I think he’ll need to sit on a wheelchair for a while.” One of the doctors said.
“Thanks. Can I see him now?”
“We’ll transfer him to the recovery room first then you can see him.” the other doctor said.
Ryosuke and so did Chine and Yuto bowed their heads to the doctor.
In the recovery room…
Ryosuke sits at the chair beside the bed and looks guiltily at Yuya.
“I’m sorry. I really am.” He whispered with tears trying to fall out again. Shit! When did I become a crybaby? He thought while wiping his eyes.
“He’ll be fine Ryosuke, but who will take care of him now though? Are you going to call your mom and tell her?” Yuto asked him.
Ryouke’s eyes widen at the realization
“No! No way! She’ll definitely disown if she finds out about this and the nasty things I’ve been doing to Takaki-kun.” Ryosuke scratched his head at the trouble ahead.
“So what will you do now?”
“I have no choice but to take care of him then… It’s my fault anyway.” Ryosuke sighed in defeat.
Note: Yow! Sorry I wasn’t able to update yeaterday. Lj gave me hard time logging in! I’ve had more than 10 attempts I guess and it pissed me off that I just ended up playing Dead Rising 2(awesome game I tell you!) instead. Sorry about that. And also this is kinda short but it’s relevant. Things are gonna get more interesting from now on:) Comments please! I love them!
