Yeah, I agree with pretty much everything you said. The finale was terrible. And also, creationist propaganda? "There were early humans on earth, but zomg guess what, mitochondrial Eve was actually a half human/half robot baby from outer space who was placed on Earth according to god's plan!" Right...

Apparently they aired an interview with the writers, or maybe it was with E.J. Olmos, where they outright admitted that they had no ending for the series in mind and kind of wrote themselves into a corner. The whole "god's plan is never finished" line seems like a blatant reference to that.

And Cavil shooting himself was the most pathetic thing ever. I guess after Tory was dead there was no way to re-create resurrection? But they should've had a scene where he escapes, and then comes to the horrible realization that he'll never be resurrected and he'll be trapped in his horrible human body forever, and THEN, maybe, shoots himself. Without shouting "Oh, frak!"
