ポイント 「洋服選びのポイントは、ふんわりやかわいらしさをテーマにがおすすめ」

I feel like giving off a light/airy and cute/sweet image with your clothes is only okay if your personality somehow resembles that sort of thing and/or you normally dress that way, anyway. 全く自分らしくないのはNGだと思う。そのくだらないふんわりで可愛くてかっこで男性にアピールしても、それからずっと続けないとやばいでしょう。自分のために自分を変えるのが別にいいけど、 ( Read more... )

Because cuteness idealized and so rampant, acting extra sweet and cute isn`t such a tall order for most Japanese women. But I do feel it`s wrong for the same reason you said, they`re lying in a way and could be wasting their significant others` time.

You'd be surprised at how many Japanese women use backhanded compliments to make themselves look better! Well, I'm sure it's not only Japan...It`s done everywhere, but I think it just seems worse because Japanese women generally come off softer, cuter, and more innocent compared to Western women. They`re not in-your-face catty or outright confrontational like in those J dramas with all the bad acting. It`s very covert and underhanded, plenty of below the belt stuff ( ... )

I don`t know, I think fashion and gender ideals/rules can very a lot from country to country: The way Japanese men cross their legs is like how some European men do; however, American men generally don`t cross them that way because it`s perceived feminine from US POV. Men topless in Japan is risque but not so much in the US. Japanese would never go to the convenience store by their house or grocery store late at night in PJs, while people in the US and China do.

Because I`ve been in Japan for a couple of years and spend a lot of time with Japanese, I don`t find it so different/weird anymore. I don`t even think I really think about it anymore. At first, how Japanese guys generally dressed, acted, and talked was very distracting to me, but I only notice it when it`s weird for a Japanese guy.
