Torchwood: watched one episode. The female cop brought all the male cops coffee. That pretty much sums up the whole epsiode. The BBC doesn't hate gay people -- just women.

Only Revolutions. Got about 150 half-pages in, gave up. A lot of style, no substance. Not even worth colorizing the title. Which is a shame, since House of Leaves was

Yeah, that scene bothered me, too. There was another female cop (detective?) she gave coffee to. So I guess it's okay. I dunno. I tried to believe it was because she's the most junior in the department.

That belief would be reassuring, if the rest of the episode didn't reinforce the idea that women are useful only as sidekicks, at best.

And I suppose, keeping with the theme, the next episode shows that all women want to do is suck the life out of men. hmm. I'm starting to think Russell T Davies is like Clive Baker. Except he's gone on record as saying he's doing a bit of borrowing from Joss Whedon. So I dunno.

preraphaelite has never liked anything I have recommended, so I don't think I can recommend HoL to her. Perhaps the Queen of Leaves should do so instead?
