Not a real job. A temp/seasonal position. It's with a company that takes school pictures. They're coming into their busy season & need extra hands.
I'll be in the Accounting department (first time to be in that heading of work), reconciling invoices. Real basic stuff. The pay is basic as well.
However, this gives me more rope to hang onto while I try to locate something better. Having a live job on a resume is pretty damned important these days.
Well, the picky thing comes into play when you're faced with the dilemma of taking something that pays far worse than what you'd been accustomed to taking, or is outside your usual field. What do you do in that regard?
These days, any gap is apt to grow into a big gap. No one likes anyone who is unemployed & it's not yet illegal to discriminate in this regard.
I hope that something better comes along!
Thanks, dear. The position is almost minimum-wage (especially in light of the wage raise the state recently voted to approve) & apparently we only get a half-hour unpaid lunch. I can't recall ever having a half-hour unpaid lunch except when I worked in fast food.
Been thinking about you. Hope things are good where you are.
