Having to report to work six days a week (and sleeping away the seventh), means the Curse of The Golden Flower came and went in local theaters before I could blink. Watching the movie on the big screen would have done proper justice to the gorgeous cinematography, but the dvd will have to do. The costumes look amazing, ample bosom not withstanding. *cough* How was Jay Chou in his sophomore acting gig? His effort in Initial D very nearly put me to sleep.
CHOW YUN FAT IN A MOVIE THAT DOESNT SUCK! ITS BEEN YEARS!
Hee! Bulletproof Monk wasn't that bad! ;) I suspect he'll be pretty awesome in Pirates 3 this summer. Definitely looking forward to that movie as well.
no, it wasn't...it could have been better but i still saw it opening day. i just loooooooove that man and it's a shame hollywood didn't know what to do with such talent. can't wait for pirates 3 either (i liked 2, i don't understand all the hate-those movies aren't meant to be masterpieces and i saw part 2 as the first part of a large movie).
that really sucks about work! but the dvd is coming out soon-it might already be out in hong kong, i forget. the region 1 dvd is coming out at the end of march i believe but don't quote me on any of this.
jay chou was good. he didn't really have to stretch much in the acting department but i didn't think he sucked or detracted from the movie, you felt for his character and the tough decisions he had to make.
but compared to gong li and chow yun fat...those two just OWNED the screen.
