I wanted to sneak in, before I missed it entirely, to wish ficangel a Very Happy Birthday and a kinder year ahead than 2009 had on offer.

I come bearing hot air balloons, because the day I spent at the balloon festival in Switzerland was one of the most carefree days of my life. May your birthday be as carefree, Mari.

That's a wonderful sketch. When I look at all the ones on the bottom I think of all the different colored candy canes they have now.

It does have a rather festive feel to it, doesn't it? It's amazing what you can inspire you with a packet of pencil crayons and a loose page of drawing paper on hand. Lifts my spirits, anyway.
