As you all must be aware by now, I shall be a mother fairly soon - unless something goes wrong, of course. Unsurprisingly, this has led me to thinking a bit about babies

generally happy to see them - although will rarely hold them out of choice until they are big enough to turn themselves over/half stand. Once they can speak odd words and follow pictures in books am quite happy socialising with children.
But I think America will be a bit far to travel anyway - so mostly a moot point for now.
We lost all rational sense on the issue 3 years, 2 months and 23 days ago. Or thereabouts. It'd be lovely to see all 3 of you - whenever Norfolk seems a reasonable distance to travel. (I've got an odd blind spot about changing other people's little girls, but apart from that it's all good...)
I am mixed - I am deeply uncomfortable around children, on the whole. However, I think this is because: - I have zero experience. Youngest person in my family is 30 this year. Recent brief exposure to babies has resulted in me quite liking them really. I even experienced the 'no, I want it 5 more minutes!'
- Older kids tend to dominate small gatherings and I am not sufficiently interested/regularly involved in the ones I have met thus far to enjoy that. Babies seem more chilled and I quite like them.
- I don't like kids in pubs - apart from special family pubs/gardens etc. Whilst I agree the UK has a shitty attitude to kids in some ways (we don't accept them socially like perhaps some other countries do, thus making them less relaxed and engaged and more ignored, bored and awful) - I still like to have a place to go where they aren't. You seem to agree on this one though.
In summary - I think I'd be up for it as I am slowly getting used to them, accepting they are part of the group and so on and I find babies quite cute!
