John's Mum bought us a blender for Christmas. I used it or the first time today and found myself uncommonly excited by it. I now want to blend everything in sight, which is quite useful given that I need to make purees for Izzy. Oh blending is indeed fun. Just don't get carried away and try to make a cake with it - this does not play to the strengths of the gadget or ingredients.

I would suggest using it to make batter in the times when you're stuck for something to do and are keen to blend, but that would be a bad thing.

Endless pancakes and yorkshire puddings?

Maybe buy tons of different fruits and experiment with smoothies?

I get the same way about blenders. And jig-saws, I cut the bit of wood I am supposed to cut then I start eying up the furniture...

I'd recommend putting "New Covent Garden Soup Company Book of Soups" on your wish list - it's great - every soup I've made out of it has turned out super yummy, and it makes great use of the blender!
