Izzy's birthday

It was Izzy's birthday a couple of weeks ago. On the day itself she and I went to the butterfly farm in Stratford with Dad and Nenita. Rory (birthday in April) was still thinking it was her birthday at Wu's party (June). I think we ended up getting her something small that she could open for herself. And then there's friends' parties, when you have a bunch of 2-or-3-year-olds all thinking the presents are for them!

Glad Izzy had fun - happy birthday to her!

I think it confuses the issue when they're tiny and you have to sort of help them open the wrapping so they see present opening as a communal affair.

Mal has done the same with presents although I think he started to get the right idea when he went to a party the other day (but I did hide the present right up until the last minute). Things will be especially exciting later in the year as the whole of December is like some insane present-a-thon for him because of his December birthday (and overexcited grandparents buying him a million presents each).

I'm glad the party went well. I think you're allowed the angel costume as long as it is counterbalanced with a pirate or summat from time to time ;)

Mal is most regularly sporting a panama at the moment, or occasionally a straw stetson with a silver sequin band which is his "party hat", the former is adult sized which adds to the effect. We haven't really got beyond headwear in the dressing up stakes, or not willingly anyway.

We really should catch up soon - I bet he's grown so much!
