Wow, that sounds like awful planning by the event runners. I was a regular attendee to Reading during my college days (not Leeds, tried and it was awful) and cant imagine having to faff that much just to get to a campsite.

Can you go for day tickets next time and pick the day that has the most you want??

I think the problem was that once the in field became unusable, the available areas were very limited and had to work around the cordoned off track. I don't think there's much that they could have done with the site to make it better organised, but things like a drop off area for camping kit would really have helped.

I think that it's outgrown its venue tbh, especially given the unavailability of the track area.

I really like The Pretty Reckless, but most people hate them simply because the singer is, shock, an actress as well.

Cos that's, like, totally not allowed in a band that people want to like.
