I constructed an entire skirt from scratch and then wussed out and got my mum to take my shop bought trousers up an inch at the hem. Funny how we have blind spots about things.

I actually hate dress making but I like the bit before when I conceive of a thing and the bit at the end if it works. The rest is just grind and the infinite potential to f* it all up. However, I've found that hand-sewing is less annoying than machine cos I can watch telly at the same time, even though it takes longer.
