Avast.com has Avast! Antivirus, which has more features and eats less RAM than Norton. Their home edition is free. All you need to do to get a key is to enter your email address once every 14 months and they'll send you one. Automatically updates itself and scans your computer when its idle.

alternatively AVG antivirus is also free and equally good.
