i walked over a bridge yesterday. i put my hands on the rail and pushed myself up. i lean over and felt the stray of dirty water on my face. i thought if i'm not careful i'll fall over and be like Ophelia. I'll be crushed by the weight of my own heart, crushed by the icy water. Crushed by the thought that this is death, and i haven't even been born yet. I thought about the way the waves crash and wash away everything they touch. i thought it was simple and so lovely. i can't wait till it's my turn. i simply can't wait.
