This is the College glacier. One can drive a snow machine with a passenger to the dot allowing one to ski down, one to drive. Repeat till legs are rubber.

The best thing about this pic is that there is no one else there...at least, no one in sight. The quiet must have sounded beautiful.

Your right of course, I tend to take the quiet and solitude for granted, although on a sunny day rock falls are common and the glacier itself sometimes speaks. One of my favorite sounds is the plume of snow pfffting as it lands.
