This evening, I let my emotions get the best of me when listening to the president's remarks regarding the coverage of illegal immigrants in the health care bill. While I disagree with the president's statement, my comments were inappropriate and regrettable. I extend sincere apologies to the president for this lack of civility.

I thought Obama did a good job with paralelling with uninsured motorists. I see a lot of "neo-libertarians" (IE libertarians who only want the government to stay out of specific issues of their choosing) say "If I don't want health insurance I shouldn't be forced to buy it." I don't understand what they think should happen if an uninsured American citizen is taken to the ER after a car accident or something similar. Should they be refused treatment? Should they receive massive amounts of debt they have no hope of paying which will eventually be written off which is the same as tax payers paying for it?
American politics on a national levle are a lost cause for me. Thankfully I have city politics to enjoy here in Austin, and the state level is starting to be at least a little more interesting.
