On Facebook's New "Privacy Controls"

So Facebook announced a change in their Privacy Controls. I am a big privacy advocate, and I was excited to see a change in what I have considered a confusing and difficult to use system for controlling who sees what on your profile ( Read more... )

when I hovered over each radio button for new settings and old settings, a pretty informative window popped up. maybe its not working in safari? or people arent thinking of trying it.

I thought I had tried that, but cannot be certain.

I just tried it again, and you are correct. The exception is a setting I have for basically "No one can see". This shows up as "Network" for some reason under "Old Setting". Strange.

Agreed. If you check the screenshot, Facebook says they have some settings they "Recommend", all of which were less secure than what I was using previously.
