On my Appalachian Trail plans

This weekend I spent at Hungry Mother State Park, in western Virginia. While there some friends of mine and I went and did an out-and-back dayhike along a section of the AT near Mount Rogers. We saw the famous wild ponies, and had lunch at the Thomas Knob Shelter. It was a short hike, about 6.5 miles total.

Keep me posted on the amicalola plans; I've been looking for an excuse to go up there. I'm not buff enough to pull off 17 miles, but I might be able to do a subset of that with you :]

Looks like the conference is 11-12 March 2008, a Tuesday/Wednesday.

I would definitely like to see you out on the trail! I am sure we can figure out some compromise on the mileage.

im starting to get excited about my semi-unemployment this summer (before & after camp) . . .

right now i planning on a week in la at some point w/ a friend who is moving out there, and maybe a week or two in boston. are you still thinking about moving back there? and probably a couple of weeks in kansas city, since im planning a 5-year reunion there. . . i might just chill there w/ friends for a week or two. wow thats really fun to say, im kinda liking this lifestyle. :)
