and the four right chords can make me cry...

I know almost everyone on my friends list, and I know that for most of them, music has a big impact on their life. That is very true for me also. Last night as I was lying in bed I was thinking about what songs I really enjoy right now, and why I enjoy them. Here they are:

Radiohead- True Love WaitsSuch an amazing song, there is no denying this ( Read more... )

first, thank you for sending me that summer at shatter creek song. i quite enjoy it.

second, my top three songs of the moment are:
wishful thinking by wilco. lyrics:
Fill up your mind with all it can know,
Don't forget that your body will let it all go.
Fill up your mind with all it can know-
'Cause what would love be without wishful thinking?
full lyrics.

country robot/a letter to dorothy by the incredible moses leroy. lyrics:
And what could I know about love?
I was sleeping but now I'm woke up-
I'm just steel, I'm not blood.
Sometimes the little things make us stuck.
full lyrics. (unfortunately, these lyrics are not entirely correct, but, what can one do.

muzzle of bees, by wilco. lyrics:
I'm assuming you got my message
On your machine.
I'm assuming you love me,
And you know what that means.
full lyrics.and now for the meanings ( ... )

Liz, the lyrics you chose were very nice, I enjoyed them all.
And your explanations made the ten times better.

Thank you for commenting and speaking how you feel, I don't think too many people will do that.

I have been listening to a mix of generes so bear with me

Rock the House- Gorillaz
I can never get enough Gorillaz. I really enjoy this song beacause it is just so funky and gets my groove on. The lyrics are self explanatory.

Now while the MC rhymin' and the DJ cuttin'
I want y'all to JUST GET DOWN

Original of the Species- U2
After listening to U2 for a while...I have fallen in love them. The song is really about Bono's daughter but it's just so beautiful.

Some things you shouldn’t get too good at
Like smiling, crying and celebrity
Some people got way too much confidence baby

Rabbit in Your Headlight-Thome Yorke feat. Dj Shadow
I always loved this song, especially the music video. its so haunting and powerful. I also love all the remixes to this song. sooo goood.

Van Morrison-Tupelo Hunny

You can take all the tea in China
Put it in a big brown bag for me
Sail it right around the seven oceans
Drop it smack dab in the middle of the deep blue sea
Because she's as sweet as tupelo honey
She's an angel of the first degree.

and..

Into the Mystic

We were born before the wind
Also younger than the sun
Ere the bonnie boat was won as we sailed into the mystic
Hark, now hear the sailors cry
Smell the sea and feel the sky
Let your soul and spirit fly into the mystic

Goods-Mates of State

This is the girl with such fantastic eyes.
Such brute creation to but lay up beside.
Should cut our nails and wash our feet
and enjoy the tedium that's yet been untried by me.
And we'll count up all the goods now.

Kaydie,
Thank you for replying.

That Mates of State song is good.

Van Morrison reminds me of my parents a lot. I always think of the song "Moondance."

It goes something like:
"Can I just have one more Moondance with you, my love"

I like Neil Diamond.
Justin (G) sent me a song called "September Morn," by him.
You should listen to it, it is nice...

jon brion - here we go
the whole song is a very good composition. it's off the punch-drunk love soundtrack, which i know isn't one of your favorite movies, but it's a good song. jon brion does the soundtracks for a lot of movies that involve love and loss, which include like punch-drunk love, eternal sunshine of the spotless mind, and magnolia, so he's a really respectable guy in the musical aspect, and an amazing songwriter for a guy in my position. it always gives me the feeling i get when i watch eternal sunshine, which is a really mellow, but somewhat inspired feeling, so if you read the lyrics, you'll get it. but here are some good ones.

You've gotta know that there's more to this world
Than what you have seen
Because we all have a limited view of what we can be

and

The feeling that someone really gets you
It's something that no one should object to
It could happen today so I suggest you
Skip your habit of laying low
It's the end of the things you know
Here we go

death cab for cutie - scientist studiesas you might know from ( ... )

Thank you for replying Joe.

Good choices.
Ironically, I downloaded that Nada Surf song about 30 minutes ago. I look forward to listening to it that much more now.

I have seen this name, "John Brion" a lot. However, I haven't heard him yet. I will now though.

I also haven't heard a lot off of "We have the facts..." Although, I listened to Transatlanticism the other day, so amazing.
