The people across from us got a new puppy and named it cupcake.  That is the gayest name for a dog ever.  Can you imagine being a guy and yelling out cupcake?  Or just yelling it out in general?  Cupcake?  Ugh.

I am in a horribly uncreative mood.  I've been sick since Sunday, so I'm worn down, and just want to sleep.  But today I'm feeling slightly better, and being home alone, I know I need to get work done.  I sat at my desk today, opened my journal, and was completely blank.  The will to continue on with the story I started last week has vanished. I'm having a hard time getting back to normal. I think I'm very sensitive to change when it comes to writing. I get so easily distracted that knowing I have other things that I need to do makes writing difficult.  I have a new hard drive, I get to start over, but first I need to write. I've managed to recover most of the work I lost on my laptop. I just have one 20 page story that I never emaile dout (but luckily printed out to revise it) and my final draft of my rabbit story. I found an old draft online with Chelsea's notes and I found a hard copy with my notes all over it, so I guess I'll have to go from there. I really like ( Read more... )

I finished a story yesterday. Huzzah!  It's always a fantastic feeling getting that last little bit out and knowing that you are done; however, the next day's a bitch.  When you're in the midst of a story, it feels like you're accomplishing something.  Once you're done, you sit there and wait for the next idea to arrive (not so easy).  All of this ( Read more... )

Nothing can feel like a last line.  When you puncuate that last sentence, that last phrase, and stop, thinking to yourself, that this is it; you're done.  And you're contented.

I'm in love with Powells' website.  Everyday before I write, I go on and read the latest blogs.
