The bar I'm suppose to meet Gavin in is a dive. When I step in, my pumps stick to the floor and I shudder with disgust. Just because most of the patrons are bikers doesn't mean they have to be sloppy with their housekeeping. The waitress, who looks like she's been around the block or two, asks me if I want anything to drink. I'm almost afraid ( Read more... )

Lilah, Lilah, Lilah. Why do I continue to waste my time and resources dealing with this woman? I realize that the current project at hand is one that needs to be worked on together, but I just can't stomache the fact that I agreed to do this in the first place ( ... )

About time he got here. When he asks if I've been waiting long, I snort and look down at my watch. "You're late," I merely say before taking another sip of my drink. I watch as the bartender comes over and takes his order. Once the other man is busy with making Gavin's drink, I take another drink of mine for continuing to speak.

"I got the materials we need. I brought the book in so you can look at it. The supplies are out in my car. Some of it is still alive and I didn't think it'd be safe bringing them in." I shudder thinking about some of the things we're going to have to kill and cut up for the spell. I'll just make Gavin do it.

"Once you get your drink, join me at the corner table." I pick up my bag, and drink, and go to the darkest table in the bar and wait for Gavin to follow.

I rolled my eyes at Lilah as she walked off, and I waited for the bartender to bring me my drink. I tossed a couple bills at him and got off my stool, preparing myself to wander over to Lilah. I still felt this entire ordeal was ridiculous. Why we needed to raise some age old vampire hunter was beyond me. Like I said, as far as I knew, the Senior Partners wanted Angel alive.

I walked over to where she sat, and grabbed a seat across the table from her. "So show me this book then," I said laconically, a flat expression on my angular face. She passed me the volume, and looking as uninterested as possible, I casually leafed through it. "Right. So because you're the one leading this little ordeal, explain to me what exactly is involved. And most importantly, how long it's going to take."

I had more important things on my agenda at the moment than playing LifeGiver with Ms. Morgan here.

I pull the book back to me and roll my eyes. "It's black magic so I had to get some special ingredients. Not all of them are here yet but they will be in a few days." My fingers trace the cover of the book. It's the perfect plan, even if Gavin doesn't see it. I know it's going to work. I have a feeling about it.

"The spell itself will take a few hours to put together. A lot of mixing of things. After that, it's simply saying a few passages from the book. We have to do it outside, at midnight, but I think we can handle it. That is if you're still in. If you think it's too dangerous for you, then you don't have to help." I give him an amused look. If he doesn't help, I'll find someone else to do it with me.
