At least you are on Medicare. Mine hasn't started yet. It will be soon. Out here in California there are a number of medicare advantage plans with donut hole coverage. (I've started doing research since I got the approval letter) Are there any out there? One by Blue Cross (in CA Blue Cross and Blue Shield are separate) has good bennies and no additional cost.

There are Medicare gap coverage plans, but I can't get covered by any of them since I'm in Kidney failure.:(

But didnt' you get the message the other night when those asshats cheered about people without insurance dying? Those of us who are ill and can't cover all our own expenses are just supposed to lay down and die.

Not only do i have a problem with the insurance/health care situation, I also think a lot of drugs are hellaciously overpriced. But I can't bitch too loud about big pharma when I'm getting some of my meds for free from them direct..

I heard about that. None of them will say it in front of a damera where they can be held accountable, they used the anonymity of a crowd.

And I get some medicines from the doctor for free once in a while after the drug rep visits. But I'd rather have them be at a reasonable price to begin with than Big Pharma have enough profits that they can hand out so many free samples. :-/

I agree. Obviously I had no problem meeting the income guidelines to get on the programs, but I feel sorry for those who have a shitty job and can't afford the meds but make too much to get on the program. And there is no program for one med I take, so I take as small a dose as I can get by with.
