So I watched Domino last night. I had heard that it wasn't a very good movie. I don't remember who I had heard this from, but they were so wrong ( Read more... )

Eh, I wasn't that impressedc with it. Mostly because:

1) the events in the movie never actually happened,
2) the characters (besides Domino Harvey herself) were all fictional characters. The closest to a real person was Mickey Rourke's characters, and even he was an amalgamation of a couple different people.

I just would have been more impressed had they based the movie on real events and real people, not just ONE real person.

Hmmm. You obviously didnt watch the extras on the disc. They had an interview with Choco (who is butt ugly by the way), and they spoke a great deal about Mickey Rourkes character. (Cant remember his character's name.) They interviewed Domino's mother (the character was surprisingly similiar). Now the bondsman they worked for in the movie was a hodge-podge of people, and the seminar runout didnt happen, but there was a real seminar headed by the main guy the bondsman was based on that Domino attended. He intraduced her to Rourkes character (real life). And the story that the movie was based on did happen, with obvious additions to make things a bit more exciting. Like I said, they didnt blow up The Top of the World in the Stardust, and 90210 fucks weren't involved. But there was an armored car jacking that involved mob money, and Domino and her crew were supposed to secure the thieves.

And here I thought you loved seeing the extras and listening to the commentary tracks...

I was going on all the stuff I read. Including the interview with Tony Scott and Richard Kelly in which they said that They invented the story and the characters (aside from Domino). I don't know what it said on the commentary because I admit, I did not watch it.
