Just curious, what's worth more, a billion pounds in Britain or a billion dollars in the USA?

i know the answer, but i'll wait to give someone else a chance. hint: it doesn't have to do with economics.

The only way it might be a trick question would be if local prices were factored in. Thus the "in Britain" versus "in the USA" as opposed to "in British currency" versus "in US currency."

Otherwise, it's a straightforward comparison of exchange rates and right now, the dollar sucks.

assuming there was 1 to 1 parity?

Well the pound may have been that low (one dollar) compared to the dollar at some point, but mostly has been worth more.

Is Britain still holding out from the Euro? The Euro started out at almost exact parity with the US dollar but is now kicking the dollar's ass.

I hear I weigh more pounds on Jupiter...

our favorite Cuddle Slut said the last few times she went thru Canada there money was almost worth as much as ours and for a long time Amer. $ were worth twice as much.
