I'm curious - what instrument do you play? I'm a violinist/recorder..ist and trying to get my lazy arse to my grandmas' to learn the piano.

And even though I am several thousand miles away and taking a completely different syllabus, if you need any help with the physics, I'd be willing to provide comfort and succour (I'm taking agap year to improve some of my grades, and catch up with First Year Univeristy Physics) and any cool websites I find, I will bung 'em up on my LJ.

Ah, yes. Fathers- eternally bungling up personal relationships with those around them to ridiculous extremes.

As for my 'musical talent', I play the viola. That's right- the butt of every orchestral joke ever written. It's alright, though. I think of it as being an an exclusive (and unfortunate) club.

Oh, and thanks for offering to help! If I find myself floundering before the final exam next Thursday, I shall surely let you know. :)

Well kudos to you. My problem is that as everyone, his wife and their joint mistress plays the violin, I have to compete with child prodigies to get to play in any sort of orchestra (in Britain, there are a few orchestras for really bad musicians, but unfortunately, I am not bad enough to apply).

I did know one viola-ist who became a sort of punk to counter the effect of playing the viola, which I found rather amusing (not least because she was your stereotypical white, middle-class girl who had grown up riding ponies...)
