Many lovely things are destined to be with us for only a certain period of time. We know the beauties of nature have their time and their season. We cannot hold them even if we would. Flowers come into new bud and reach their glorious bloom, but they must pass out of our lives in the season of frost. Yet we are the richer for having seen them, touched them, and enjoyed their fragrance. How much more rewarding, then, is the life of a loved one who leaves a heritage of loving memories with us that can never die. And how truly and wisely it has been said, "God gave us memory so that we might have roses in December."

I wish I had something else to talk about, but the only thing that's happened recently is my getting my first paycheck. The pay stub says that I've earned an additional $16, which I never received, which means that they haven't actually given me my first check. They still have my $16. Also, no federal taxes were taken out, which is an issue. Now I have to go fix it and probably fill out another W4.

Even so, it means I have $46. And I really want to go to the zoo. I am being 159% honest when I say that. Someone go to the zoo with me, please.

[EDIT - seconds later]
