At the moment, the high school's musical this year is still going to be Thoroughly Modern Millie. The more I think about it, the more I understand why. It's one of the few musicals out there with a female-dominated cast. We have little to no guys this year: David, Kennie, Garret... those are the only ones I can think of who would solidly be interested in the musical. Matt's an option too, and I could see Sean's interest getting peaked, but that's about it. I'm not too worried about the guys, though, because there's only four roles to be filled, two of which won't even be in English. They could totally screw up the Chinese songs and barely anyone would notice.

Everyone knows that Kristen will be getting Millie, and sopranos will be viciously fighting for rights to Miss. Dorothy's part... which leaves Mrs. Meers and Muzzy.

Last year, I thought I stood a chance of getting into the musical. This year, I think I have a solid chance of getting Muzzy (which would put me on cloud nine for just about the rest of my life). Deep alto part, has to sound mature, meant for a black woman. Most of the solid altos in our school don't want to have anything to do with the musical, and those who do have girlier voices. Not necessarily suitable for a character who's supposed to be a 40 year old lounge singer.

My voice, generally speaking, is a little lower and richer than the standard high schoolers I hear. Not bragging; sometimes it stinks because I stick out. For the role of Muzzy, though, it could be good stuff.

Anywaaaaaays. Chester's doing much better. It took plenty of coaxing, but his wound has finally scabbed over. Trade one dramatic situation in life for another, though. That's how things work for me.

My grandpa was put on a steroid medicine for something recently; I haven't the slightest idea specifically what. The other day, though, he forgot to take the medication, and he found himself incapable of moving his arms. Didn't have enough strength.

Tests are being done, but as of right now, all they know is that it's a muscle problem and that without the steroids, he can't really move. Everyone's calm about it, and I'm even a little curious. Can a simple steroid medication really cause a sudden physical dependency? Hopefully the find out what exactly is wrong soon. I'm just glad he told us about it now. My grandpa has a tendency to hide things until they elevate to the red zone, like the cancer splotches on his cheeks a few years ago. Anyways, nothing too serious (we hope). Just a passing concern.

Can't wait to see my college friends. Kyle, Katherine, Chris, Bethany, and I need to go see Tenacious D: Pick of Destiny together, and then we all need to watch the new "The Producers" because Kyle looks just like Nathan Lane, which means that Kyle has sex with old ladies for money. I always knew it.
