10 Words to describe your character: energetic, curious, caring, bossy, impatient, friendly, adventurous, fun-loving, bright, optimistic

EXTENDED APPLICATION -- PLEASE DO AT LEAST A PARAGRAPH ON EACH OF THESE, UNLESS THEY ARE STATED TO BE OPTIONAL
Personality: Cassie is an extremely friendly and energetic twelve-year-old. She's really rather impulsive, and though she tries to be polite, she tends to speak and act before she thinks. She loves to explore, loves to have fun, and loves to use her new magic skills cause a little bit of mischief every once in a while (but since she's not malicious at all, it's more "it would be so cool if we floated snowballs through the window!" rather than "I'm going to levitate ice into someone's FACE!"). She's actually a very caring girl, especially towards animals. Her parents were very careful to make sure that Cassie was at least taught how to be well-mannered and kind to other people. She almost always remembers the kindness, but the manners escape her sometimes.

Generally speaking, Cassie is almost always in a good mood; it takes an awful lot to upset her or even irritate her at all. She is still very much a naive, happy child, and really doesn't understand why older students (and adults) are always so worried and, really, boring. After all, why be upset or worried over things you can't control? Why walk someplace when you can skip?

Cassie has very little patience (or maybe just a very short attention span) unless she has a strong reason to care. She quickly loses interest in things like schoolwork or conversations and feels the need to make it a little more exciting - she's just a bit hyperactive, that's all!

Strengths: Both magical and personality: Well, she is only a first year, so it's hard to say at this point, but she's loved Potions from the first class (and has some family history of talent in the subject), and is definitely doing well in Herbology, too. She's a pretty "hands-on" kind of girl and loves having something to physically show for her work. Like any good Ravenclaw, she's very bright and could handle schoolwork with relative ease, but she tends to be better if something catches her attention.

Cassie has an extremely bubbly and friendly personality - she gets along with just about everyone (or tries to, anyway). She's generally pretty understanding of other people and wants to help them out when she can.

Her curiosity, as well, is a strength - she always wants to know more about something and is willing to do the exploring to get it.

Weaknesses: Both magical and personality: Magically...again, she's barely started, so it's hard to say. She doesn't quite have the patience to wait for improvement in something like Transfiguration. And things like Astronomy or History of Magic? Forget it. Cassie just doesn't like patient, slow, written work.

Cassie is the oldest child in her family, and sometimes that manifests itself in strange (and not positive) ways. She is rather impatient and has a major tendency to be bossy, because she's rather used to getting her brothers to do what she wants them to.

Cassie doesn't always have the best social graces - yes, her parents taught her proper manners, but she tends to barrel ahead without thinking before she speaks or does something. She's very impulsive and doesn't always think through the consequences of her actions.

Fears: Cassie tries to come across as fearless, but obviously no one is - she just tends to deal with it by laying low and hiding out. First and foremost, she is afraid of anything happening to her family and friends (and also her cat, which she is VERY protective of); she also fears getting into arguments with them and not being forgiven. (This is particularly true of Pim, who Cassie is very much afraid to get into an argument with - not because she thinks she couldn't win, but because she's scared to do damage to their friendship.)

This fear is intensified by the current situation with the Death Eaters. Though Cassie tries not to let on, the last two attacks in the school terrified her. (She was, after all, only 11 at the time...and it's not like 12 is much better.)

History: Cassie was born in Reading, England, to Ian and Sophie Carys. Although Ian is a Muggle, he is throughly accepting (and fascinated by) his wife's magical abilities - therefore, both parents are very encouraging towards Cassie's and her brothers' future magical education, and Cassie has grown up knowing a bit about both worlds. Since her parents' professions are actually pretty similar, she's used to constant experimentation (and the occasional explosion). Between her parents and two younger brothers, Cassie's home life has always been rather eventful - but safe and very loving. [Much of this will be detailed further in the family section - Cassie's family is the most important part of her history and her present.]

Cassie attended a Muggle primary school up until her Hogwarts letter came. Some things about Muggle school interested her, especially science, but on the whole, she was extremely thankful when she could start learning about magic. (Far more exciting, after all.) However, she was usually smart enough not to mention the whole magic thing at school - when she was very little, she talked about it all the time, how she was going to go away to magic school and be a witch. Her teachers actually found it rather adorable and thought Cassie just had a very good imagination, but after it was mentioned to Cassie's parents during a conference, Sophie began bribing her daughter with promises of visits to magic places if she'd lay off talking about magic in school.

Physical Description: At the least, provide base details of build, height, eye/hair colour, and complexion. About 5'1" and average build; grayish-green eyes; shoulder length, light blonde hair; pale complexion...and she wears a lot of pink, which may not seem like a defining physical characteristic, but it totally is.

Significant Relationships:
Family:
Cassie's parents, Ian and Sophie, are very important in her life, partially because she hasn't gotten to the age of hating her parents and partially because they've been extremely loving and encouraging to Cassie and her brothers - whether or not the three ended up with magic (and it appears they all will), all three know they'll have a place in their family. The family is extremely close and very accepting, including the extended branches - Cassie grew up attending huge family gatherings for all major holidays and with close ties to her cousins (nearly all of which are younger than she is).

Ian, a Muggle chemistry teacher, comes from a rather large family, and is second of five children (and the only boy). All four of his sisters have married, and most of them have children of their own, meaning Cassie has a huge amount of aunts, uncles, and cousins on her dad's side. No one on this side of the family is magical - Ian himself is not, and only met Sophie when they (quite literally) ran into each other in Reading shortly after Sophie finished at Hogwarts. Ian's sisters know about Sophie's magical ability, although not all of them have told their husbands, and only one of Cassie's cousins, Lindsey, knows. (This is because Lindsey is only three months older than Cassie - they have grown up together and are very close friends as well.)

Cassie's mother Sophie is a Muggleborn witch and the middle of three children. Both of Sophie's siblings are magical as well...their parents didn't quite know what to do with them, having never had any experience with real magic. Sophie is less than a year older than her younger sister Betsy and the two are also very close - Betsy and her family live across town from Cassie's family (which is not very far at all). Sophie's siblings both married someone they met at Hogwarts, so it's a safe assumption that all of Cassie's cousins on this side of the family will be attending Hogwarts; Cassie is the oldest of them and, therefore, the first to make it in.

Cassie has two younger brothers named Elijah and Lucas. She loves them dearly but would never, ever admit to it. When she and Eli were younger, Cassie was constantly crafting little shows for them to perform for their parents and other family members, or they'd be off building a fort in the backyard, or something, since they're only three years apart, but Eli got far more annoying as he got older (or so Cassie thinks). She constantly claims that she likes Luke better, but this is probably because he's only five years old and will generally listen to whatever she says.

Friends: Cassie's best friend EVER is one Pimento Pepper, despite the fact that they seem to argue rather often and Pimento is always stealing Cassie's cat and Cassie tries to make Pimento wear things that are pink or sparkly. In the end, they help each other out and have plenty of good times by virtue of sharing a dormitory and a very important cause. Cassie and Izzy Sawyer also get along absolutely brilliantly, and she's also good friends with Ethan Tibble and Brian Ledger (for all that they are boys and potentially have dangerous cooties and whatnot). Cassie likes just about everyone, really, especially if they're in the Anti-Snogging Society.

COMMUNITY SPECIFIC QUESTIONS -- ONLY ANSWER THE SECTION APPLICABLE TO YOUR CHARACTER
Hogwarts:
Year: 1st
House: Ravenclaw
Why are they in that house? Cassie is a Ravenclaw not because she's some excellent student, but because she wants to know absolutely everything. She craves answers and explanations, and she loves to be the first one to know something. She probably could have been a Gryffindor, as she is a big fan of adventures, but she likes adventures not for the sake of taking the risk but for the discoveries she'll make on the way.

ROLEPLAY SAMPLE -- PLEASE ENSURE THAT THIS IS IN THIRD PERSON NARRATIVE POINT OF VIEW
Cassie skipped happily down the hallway on her way to DADA, humming a Christmas carol to herself. Never mind that she actually liked DADA, but really, she could have been going to charms - or even history of magic! - and still be in this fantastic mood. How could she not be happy? In two days, she'd be home for Christmas! And the castle was so festive, there was a reminder around every corner.

Unfortunately, she was so distracted by the decorations and the song and her own thoughts, she skipped right into someone and tripped backwards. A much older someone, who was not wearing a school uniform and was therefore a Very Important Older Person.

Eyes wide, she looked up at the person in front of her. "Sorry!" she cried, hoping that she would not be in trouble.

MOD-ONLY QUESTIONS -- THESE WILL ONLY BE KNOWN TO THE MODS
Character Secrets: Seriously, how many secrets can a 12-year-old have?

Although, I feel that here I should point out that her projected OWLs do not necessarily reflect her current grades, as she's pretty much just managing Acceptable in Charms and Transfiguration right now. Cassie's too young to really care much about her future just yet, but in two or three years, she's going to decide that she wants to be a healer and she's going to get herself together and start working a little harder in those two subjects to get the grades necessary to pursue that goal. She's intelligent, but currently lacks motivation...an ambitious career goal will certainly provide the motivation necessary.

Character Alliance: Definitely on the good side, but again, she's 12, so what's she going to do about it?
