Personality: Vanessa was always a smart girl in school. She kept her grades up in most of her classes, never letting anything drop below an A. Her Ravenclaw tendencies would shine a lot while she was in school, but there was a reason the sorting hat put her in Slytherin. Vanessa has hardly any morals, at least any respectable morals. She is definitely an Epicurean. She will do whatever it takes for her own personal comfort and pleasure. If something will benefit her and make her excel in personal gain, she will do it, no matter what. If Vanessa was to get blamed for something that she allegedly did, she’d be the first to point her finger at a scapegoat. She never takes for responsibility for her actions, unless that action is to be rewarded. She’s all about personal gain.
Vanessa will never settle for anything less than perfect, especially with her children. She expects them to obey orders and not ask questions. She tries her very best to give them everything they want in order to succeed in being acceptable members of society and tries to be a motherly figure to them as much as she can, but to Vanessa that means getting a Nanny and seeing the children at dinner time and offering her praises on what they have done that day. Vanessa is especially fond of her youngest daughter, Ariel. She dotes on her constantly and always gives her a little bit of extra praise, which Ariel soaks up. His family had come into money a few generations back, and Vanessa wanted all the luxuries in life. So in order to live the lifestyle Vanessa had always dreamed for herself, was to find a rich man to marry. Claude Redington was the first available, good looking man with loads of money and dying to share it with someone. To the unsuspecting eye, Vanessa is the perfect image of a loving wife. She does love him, yes, but not enough to stay faithful to him on his long trips for his job with Gringotts. He is usually out of the continent more often than not. Vanessa is an Epicurean, she can’t handle that.
Strengths: Both magical and personality:
Magical: Vanessa tried to keep as well rounded as possible in school. She liked the challenge. Her best subjects included Divination and Charms. She loved the mystery in Divination and the way to manipulate how others perceived their future. Oftentimes she would try and tell her friends’ futures using her Divination skills. She never exactly would be truthful, depending on whom it was. If the person was a gullible friend who happened to have a shirt that Vanessa would like to borrow, she would tell her friend to avoid the color that the shirt was in. Therefore, Vanessa got what she wanted, while her friend got her “fortune” told. Although, Vanessa enjoyed tampering with others minds, she also had a respect for the inner eye. She, of course, is not a Seer, by any means, but she had a knack for formulating creative stories for telling the future.
