10 Words to describe your character: Softspoken, brave, fun, proud, bright, honest, lazy, sloppy, sarcastic, kind.
EXTENDED APPLICATION -- PLEASE DO AT LEAST A PARAGRAPH ON EACH OF THESE, UNLESS THEY ARE STATED TO BE OPTIONAL
Personality: Most of the time, Lea is a generally happy person and is easy to get along with, and she likes meeting new people and having a good time. She is soft-spoken and moves quietly and lightly, often giving the impression that she's a bit timid, which isn't true. She's frequently sarcastic which is interesting coming from her since she usually has no bite in her voice when she says things. She can snap, though, and because she always wants to prove herself, and thinks she's always right, she'll vehemently defend herself in any way she can think of, either with words or with magic.
Because she has older friends at home, and some of her first friends at Hogwarts were older students, she tends to think of herself as more mature than she really is. She has a distinctly skeptical attitude when it comes to first years, yet she seems to be friends with a lot of them anyway. She likes the feeling of being older and wiser than they are, though she'd never put it into those words.
Strengths: Both magical and personality:Magically, Lea's strength rests in her wand work. The subject that she has always had a natural talent for is transfiguration. She is not perfect at it, but she wants to be, and because she recognizes that she has the ability and because the subject fascinates her, she is always pushing to get better at it. She's also quite adept at charms, and DADA on practical days. She is okay with the practical parts of Potions and Herbology too, though they try her patience.
The positive aspects of her personality rest, I think, in her loyalty and her kind and playful nature. This is a girl who wants to have fun, and she wants other people to have fun with her. She doesn't want people to sit around and study if she can think of something for them to do that would be a much more joyful experience.
Weaknesses: Both magical and personality: Lea is rotten at any magic that involves effort. History of magic is pretty much the worst experience of her LIFE. She simply does not have the attention span or the willpower to listen to lectures, take notes, read books, and write essays. That is entirely too much work. She wants to be able to just wave her wand and have things done. She has similar problems with astronomy, with defense against the dark arts when she has to read and write essays, with potions because she doesn't like the simmering and waiting part. She doesn't want to put that much effort into it.
This stems from her major personality flaw, which is that she is LAZY. This bleeds into a lot of her life, not just her schoolwork. Her room is an absolute wreck because she can't be bothered to put things away. She starts projects and leaves them half finished because she decides they're too much work. She's flighty and loses interest in things very quickly. She also lacks a certain level of depth when it comes to her interactions with others. She feels that talking about her feelings exposes some kind of weakness, plus, she doesn't like to delve into her own fears and problems, so she doesn't tolerate that from others. It takes a LOT for her to admit any kind of deeper feeling to someone, no matter how much she trusts them. And she isn't interested in hearing about other people's problems, she just does NOT want to have those kind of serious conversations.
Fears: Like most people, Lea fears loss. She also fears Men In Black Capes And Hoods, for good reason. She's mostly a very brave little girl, but she's still a little girl. She has nightmares about the attacks that have happened at Hogwarts. She is much less inclined to walk places by herself anymore and if she has no friend to walk to classes with, she'll wait until there's a group of older students she can trail along behind. And she fears for her family, because muggles are being attacked.
History: Lea is born and bred of muggle parents in Leeds in the northern part of England. She's a Loiner through and through, blue collar and working class. Her dad works at an old leather factory in town, one of the last remaining operational factories in the once very industrially driven city. When her mum got pregnant with Lea's little sister she took a job at a knitting shop because her dad's wages just wouldn't support two children. Read: Lea's family is POOR. She's rarely ever had new clothes, she doesn't know the meaning of taking a holiday, she's never seen the sea and is rarely ever indulged in any way. She has a few treasured possessions, her broom among them, that her parents saved up for especially. Now that she has a baby sister, she understands even more that she's got to go without things, but it's not new to her.
Among the things that her parents do give Lea, financially, are her hair dye and money to go to concerts. Not big concerts mind, just small local shows at community centers and school, nothing that would cost more than five quid. But Lea gets a great deal of pleasure from going to them. She's very into music and into the whole scene, she thinks the kids are so cool and that's why she started dying her hair. Her parents were very apprehensive about the whole thing, the hair dye, the rock concerts, but they want her to be happy, and this is something they can afford to give her. Plus, her dad plays guitar, so he's into it.
Physical Description: At the least, provide base details of build, height, eye/hair colour, and complexion. Currently, Lea is an even 5 feet tall with a slight build. She is light on her feet and moves easily (although, somehow this natural grace alludes her when her broom gets near trees.) Her hair is naturally blonde but she dyes it pink. She has brown eyes.
Significant Relationships:
Family: Optional: Lea is no closer with her parents than any other 12 year old girl might be. She fights with them on certain issues, like her hair color and her love of rock concerts, but they indulge her when they can. She adored her baby sister though, something which could end up being a weakness and a liability for her.
Friends: Optional: As far as is concerned right now, Lea doesn't have any best friends but she has a lot of acquaintances. She's like this due to her inability, or lack of desire, to open up with people. Her friendships are all very superficial. Not that she doesn't care for people, she just doesn't sink her claws in.
Other: Optional: Lea has a 'friend' from home, Johnny, that she has a big crush on. He is in a band and she's always hung out with him and his band, and a lot of those older kids. She's obviously drifted from him now that she's at school, but she always finds herself comparing other people to him.
COMMUNITY SPECIFIC QUESTIONS -- ONLY ANSWER THE SECTION APPLICABLE TO YOUR CHARACTER
Hogwarts:
Year: 2
House: Gryffindor
Why are they in that house? Lea is bold and definitely has a thirst for adventure and a certain disregard for authority. She's also got the typical gryffindor fiery temper, which lurks just underneath her playful exterior.
ROLEPLAY SAMPLE -- PLEASE ENSURE THAT THIS IS IN THIRD PERSON NARRATIVE POINT OF VIEW
Ah, flying! she hadn't had a chance to get out and fly much recetly, other than the one time with Anya. She hadn't even seen Anya since then. Everyone was so busy. She hadn't really seen much of anyone recently. As much as she loved adventure and loved things to be gonig on, she wished sometimes that the world could just stop, so she could catch up.
Flying, of course, was a way to make the world stop.
Unless, of course the world chose to stop her. And now for the first time, the world had decided, she just didn't need to be flying. Instead, she needed to be stuck very high in a tree, with her broom and her wand on the ground below her where they had fallen when she'd crashed. Bugger!
