Personality:
David's fairly outgoing and fun. He likes to have a good time, and if there's something going down in the Gryffindor Common Room, he'll probably be there, attempting to join in. Pranks are fun, but he only joins in when he feels that the victim really deserves it. Pranking for pranking's sake is not really David's thing. He's fairly restless so don't expect him to be sitting there reading. In fact, if he sees someone like his sister sitting quietly and reading, he'll take it upon himself to liven up her day.
Overall, David is an optimist. He doesn't seek out the negative in most situations. Instead he will either point out the positives, or completely change the subject. He tries not to dwell on bad things.
David isn't about saving the world. He's not quite that into justice or changing things. However, he would go along with a big plan to save the world simply because a hero is a glorious thing to be. In fact, he'd probably think of the glory and excitement first and rush in, only to realize that he could get killed once they were in the fray.
He's quite active and is always up for anything, whether it be going flying, going on a random treasure hunt or simply hunting for nifflers. Yes, hunting FOR nifflers. David's theory is that he can steal a bunch of them, let them loose in the school and then collect them AND the money afterwards. He loves parties and gatherings of any sort, really. Having people around for entertainment is a great thing. The atmosphere and energy of parties feels comfortable to him. Sometimes, he might have a few drinks, but not often. His favourite things are Gryffindor Common Room parties, because most of his friends are there
He's not a hot-headed person, surprisingly. David doesn't get too angry often, he thinks that there are far better things to do than to stand around and argue loudly. He has a more easy going approach to disagreements. He might get a clever quip in here and there, but mostly listens and will smirk or smile. That being said, he's not above holding grudges against people, and he does remember the comments he has heard about werewolves as well as who made them. Just because David won't run around looking for fights doesn't mean that he won't go into one if it's about something he feels strongly about.
David dislikes bullies, cruelty, prejudice, people with no sense of humour, nerds, people who hate werewolves, rude jackasses, selfish jackasses and jackasses in general. He mostly tries to avoid these people or situations as much as he can. If he's forced to interact with people he really dislikes, then he'll try to ignore them as much as possible. However, any comment about his family and/or friends will set him off. He's not above getting into a fight about that. Or at least vow to get them back at the next possible chance, depending on who is around.
When truly horrible situations arise, David tries very hard not to show he's upset. Any sort of tragedy tends to spark the automatic pilot in him to entertain and act as if everything is fine. He's all smiles and routine. In fact, David has it ingrained in him pretty deeply that he should act a certain way. Flirtatious, charming and on the verge of pompous is how David tries to represent himself. This is how he believes that he'll have lots of friends and do well in life. After seeing how vulnerable his father could be, especially around the full moon, a younger David decided that he never wants to be seen as weak or vulnerable. That's how it has manifested itself in his current personality.
David's family is in no way rich, but he really doesn't mind that much. A lot of rich people are part of the aforementioned jackasses, so he can deal without it. Or at least, that's what he tells himself. This doesn't stop him from pining for expensive things in stores and wanting to discover a get-rich quick scheme. He has yet to find a successful one.
Politically, David is a pseudo-radical. He isn't a fan of the Ministry of Magic, mainly because of their policies on werewolves. It's that bias that he keeps with him whenever he reads about them, however, so David is often unimpressed with the government.
He tends to flirt with anything with breasts, and it sometimes works. David thinks that dating is fun and good times and all that, and never anything to be taken too seriously. Any serious romantic feelings that he gets are immediately pushed away and ignored. The only girl he really would have serious romantic feelings towards would probably be Emily, and there is no way that he's going to deal with that.
How? Well, David would probably approach a pretty girl and flash her a charming smile. Then they'd talk and if things went well, he might ask her out. And then things would progress as they should, barring any problems. In David's mind, it would be just great, unless the girl got clingy or irritating. Then he'd have to somehow tell her that he thought they'd be better off as friends. This might result in David being hated by a few people for awhile...
Strengths: Both magical and personality:
Surprisingly, he's quite good at divination. Well, not so much good as he has the ability to BS a reading out of basically anything. He does enjoy it, however, and he does attempt to get a true reading out of tea leaves or the crystal ball. It's just that when there is none, he makes sure that he sounds like he knows what he's talking about. Being able to randomly make up stories really helps him in this course. He takes pride in his work and really tries in this class, despite the fact that a lot of students think it's a load of bollocks. He secretly really does believe in divination, though he tries not to get into arguments about it.
David is a cheerful guy. His ability to see the brighter side of things is one of his greatest strengths. David doesn't let most things get him down and he is grateful for his family and friends. Although he doesn't always tell them that, he is able to enjoy the time he spends with them. If he sees someone he loves having a rough time, he'll do whatever he can to cheer them up, and have a good time doing it. In his mind, things are always going to be okay. He'll be saying that until the day he dies, I'm sure.

Not because he doesn't respect his father, but because his father is a werewolf and regarded as a menace and treated poorly. David wants respect from people and never wants to be seen as weak or in any negative light at all.
History:
Once upon a time, there was a Half-blood wizard named Kelly Lowell. He went to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and had a good time. He was bitten by a werewolf as a fairly young kid, the year after his first year. After that he became quite a bit quieter and more studious. Kelly didn't have a lot of friends, and tried not to really be noticed. After he was done school, he met Morgan Boulanger, a muggle artist. They fell in love and married. Sure it looked like it was doomed from the start but they believed that they could overcome anything as long as they had each other. (hahaha, suckers.)
Kelly has always skittered from job to job, and mostly tries to keep to himself. He and Morgan had Pippa, David and Lottie together but when David was five years old, they got a divorce. It was fairly amicable, and David, Lottie and Pippa alternated weekends with their mom. Morgan is a Muggle, so that made the marriage all that much harder, as dealing with werewolves and wizards was something that took getting used to. After the divorce, she went back to living a Muggle life. It was harder because the kids couldn't just floo over to her house as she wasn't part of the Wizarding World anymore, but they made it work. David's mum is now remarried to a muggle. David figures the guy is okay. His name is Alex and he's a journalist. This has caused a bit of fudging the truth for him. Muggle journalists and Wizards don't really mix. Kelly never remarried and lives at home alone.
When David was younger and he went to visit his Mum on the weekends, he met Emily St. James. David was still getting used to the Muggle world, and Emily definitely helped with that transition. In turn, he told her about the Wizarding world. Sure, most of it was BS but he made it sound good. It wasn't David's fault that he didn't actually know all the facts. He knew about a lot of spells though. Also, Emily was the very first person that David told that his father was a werewolf. Her reaction wasn't at all what he worried it would be, and they've been lifelong friends ever since.

David was born a year and a half after Pippa. He's the first born male, and is the only son of 3 kids. He's the epitome of cool. Really, just ask him. According to him, he's a ladies man, a top athlete and an all around fantastic guy. Unfortunately, when he's around his family, he doesn't usually act as though he's so great. Pippa, his oldest sister, can see right through him. So yes, once he started to try and walk around the house pompously, his sisters brought him down a few pegs. They have childhood stories and pictures of him that completely defy the persona he has created for himself.
Despite that, he really adores his sisters, especially his little sister Lottie. She's always had her head stuck in a book and when he was younger, he saw it as his responsibility to help her realize that there's a real world out there. This was pretty much a complete failure and David decided to concentrate on himself. After all, he had to work on getting to the epitome of cool, right?
As for Pippa... he does love her. He just doesn't understand her at all. She's a complete enigma to him, and rather different. What he finds completely important, she doesn't seem to care about at all. Despite that, he is nice enough to her, most of the time. There are times that he stops speaking to her, like when she insists that he was dropped on his head as a baby.
Overall, he respects and loves his father. However, he is extremely defensive of him and although he does aspire to be somewhat like him, he never wants to get sick or ill like his father does. He never wants to look weak or sick. David has seen how people treat his father and how society treats werewolves.
David tries to surround himself with people who agree with him or have the same values as he does. I don't quite know if that has worked so well. We'll see when he shows up, won't we?

One of his best friends is Emily St. James. They knew each other before Hogwarts. David always thought that Emily was a rather amazing person. He likes the same things that she likes, and he actually used to wish that EMILY was one of his sisters because she was so fun to be around and not at all like Pippa or Lottie. She's easy to talk to and doesn't take herself too seriously. They know each other quite well, and their families do too. When David was in first year, he kept forgetting when the full moon was. (because he's a fool) Emily gave him a miniature wolf whose eyes lit up whenever it was the full moon so he'd be able to remember. Even though he knows when the full moon is now, he still keeps that toy wolf around.

Why are they in that house? David wanted to be Gryffindor SO BADLY when he was sorted. Emily was a Gryffindor, so obviously he needed to be one too. That and deep down in his primal sweet spot (PD FTW), he is very much a Gryffindor. He's bold and brave. One of the things he lacks is the borderline recklessness that most Gryffindors possess. David manages to back away from most confrontations unless they are unavoidable. He has a strong sense of chivalry instilled in him and really likes the idea of being a Knight in Shining Armor. (though he'll never admit that to anyone) One of the more bold traits that David possesses is when it comes to Werewolves. He will stand up for their rights and stop at nothing to make sure that people like his father don't have to live like freaks.

She's easy to talk to and doesn't take herself too seriously. They know each other quite well, and their families do too. When David was in first year, he kept forgetting when the full moon was. (because he's a fool) Emily gave him a miniature wolf whose eyes lit up whenever it was the full moon so he'd be able to remember. Even though he knows when the full moon is now, he still keeps that toy wolf around.

House: Gryffindor!
Why are they in that house? David wanted to be Gryffindor SO BADLY when he was sorted. Emily was a Gryffindor, so obviously he needed to be one too. That and deep down in his primal sweet spot (PD FTW), he is very much a Gryffindor. He's bold and brave. One of the things he lacks is the borderline recklessness that most Gryffindors possess. David manages to back away from most confrontations unless they are unavoidable. He has a strong sense of chivalry instilled in him and really likes the idea of being a Knight in Shining Armor. (though he'll never admit that to anyone) One of the more bold traits that David possesses is when it comes to Werewolves. He will stand up for their rights and stop at nothing to make sure that people like his father don't have to live like freaks.
