Only a little. Thankfully she got her father's Italian complexion, with the dark eyes, skin and long, dark brown hair that she likes to curl most of the time. She's an average build -- height of about 5'6 and although she is fairly skinny, she has to work at it! She is a health freak and quite obsessive when it comes to eating and exercise. So she remains skinny because of this.

Personality:
Celeste is an unusual sort. It is hard to describe her, because she can be quite contradictory. It all really depends on her mood. On the one hand, she is quite mature for her age. Highly studious, although not a book nerd, but she is determined, ambitious, and disciplined enough to get the best marks that she can get -- she wants to be the top of her class, really. So she spends a lot of her time studying and reading, not necessarily because she enjoys it, but because she knows that it will help her get farther in the world.
On the other hand, though, when she can allow herself to loosen up and not focus so intently on school, she can be quite fun loving! She'll joke around with the best of them. Perhaps even prank someone, as she can be quite evil like that sometimes. She has been known to do a crazy thing or two -- like skinny dipping in the lake or singing at the top of her lungs in the hallways. Silly things like that. But again, it all highly depends on her mood, whether she feels as if she has the time to spare to skive off of her studies, and if she's around those she's fully comfortable with.
I wouldn't call her icey, but Celeste has a guard up between herself and those she does not know or know well. She'll be nice, for the most part because she wants to remain tactful, but she will hold you at a distance and appear reserved. Some might even think of her as a bitch because of this, because she doesn't put herself out there, but thats none of her concern. She just doesn't go out of her way to make friends with everyone. And its slightly due to her thinking that she is better than most. Yes, she is rather a selfish snob.
But once you become her friend and she feels you are at a close level where she can put that guard down and trust you, she will love you forever and adore you to itty, bitty pieces. She's deathly loyal to her friends and is a good friend to have, as she is highly dependable, stable and supportive. These are the lucky few who tend to see her crazier, wackier, insane, fun loving side.
However, if you anger her? She will likely hold a bitter grudge against you forever and do what she can to make your life miserable. End of that story.
Speaking of boys... Celeste isn't a fan of them. Not saying she doesn't like them -- she is very much straight, she just thinks boys are stupid and pointless and not worth her time(in a serious, long term relationship sense). So you won't catch her swooning or melting away by something charming that was cast her way. However, this doesn't stop her from having a little fun. In fact, she is quite a tease. It's a sick hobby of hers to lead a boy on, making him think he might have a chance with her, before she quickly dismisses him and washes her hands clean to start on her next victim. If and when she does like a boy, then she will be very cautious -- though once she finds him, she will be extremely faithful, if not a bit jealous.
As for her elitism... hmm. Celeste definitely leans towards the elitist side, though she's by no means an extremist. She grew up in an elitist home, but her parents didn't do a stellar job of brain washing her. So she's not opposed to making friends with others who are halfbloods or muggleborns(mostly because she knows she's not pure!) but they probably aren't her first choice. They'd likely have to work harder to get her to trust them and to put her guard down -- muggleborns, especially.
With that said, though, Celeste thinks she's better than everyone, so everyone alike has to work to get her to fully approve. More so now than when she was a younger year, as she's gotten a little bit more snobby and guarded as time has gone by, with the constant fear of all her secrets catching up to her.
Strengths: Both magical and personality:
Celeste's strengths, when it comes to school, would be in reading and writing -- the theory behind all the practical things she has to do. She excels in classes like History of Magic and Ancient Runes and Astronomy and Potions because they don't have to use wand work and are more based on learning facts and symbols and being patient and meticulous.
Her strength is in said patience, and being a determined, disciplined, hard working and ambitious young woman. She feels that she needs to work hard in order to get anywhere in life. Celeste is the perfect student because if she isn't good at something, she will work her little butt off until she is good, or at least good enough to fake the rest of it and pass. Her ideal dream would to become some type of business woman and make lots and lots of money. So she needs to make good marks in order to further that dream.
Weaknesses: Both magical and personality:
Wand work was a real challenge for her, it certainly hasn't come to her naturally. But because she is highly determined, she has honed her skill and been able to pass her classes with good marks, but it still on the weaker scale of her magical abilities. It basically comes down to practical things... when she actually has to do things is when she clams up a bit and doesn't have the natural ability. Which is why she wasn't very good in Herbology and Divination. She can always get the concepts and theories, but the practical she has to work harder on.
Personality wise, her weakness would be in never knowing how to be happy. She thinks she always needs more, more, more! Which makes her quite superficial and shallow. This lack of finding happiness in who she is tends to point her towards depression, although throughout the years, she has done an excellent job of covering it up to the point where no one ever notices. Seldom few, if any, know that she wrestles with depression.
Fears/Motivations:
Biggest fear? Gaining weight. Celeste knows that she could possibly, one day become her father's mother -- a pleasantly round Italian woman who loves to eat, as all Italians should. And this is a huge fear of hers!! Which is why she not only wrestles with depression, but also battles with anorexia. Its a horrible paranoia for her to have, because she doesn't have the body type to gain a lot of weight anyway!! But she is keen on watching what she eats, and exercises as a daily routine.
Also, the fear of being poor is very much instilled in her. She fears that her father will continue to be unlucky and continue to throw away their money. Which is a big reason she works so hard to learn as much as she can. She's determined to make it big, and learn from her dad's mistakes.
History:
Born to Andrea and Jade Torchia, Celeste grew up the younger child of two in Newcastle, England, where other members of her Mother's family lived. She was born into a rather wealthy elitist 'pureblooded' family. They took extremely good care of her and taught her the finer way of living, so to speak.
But now, since her father's career has taken a turn for the worst, their financial security is weakened. They aren't nearly as wealthy as they were when she was younger. They even had to relocate the family to Manchester when she was 13 because of this, in hopes that her father's transfer to a different company would help solve the problem. Yet it hasn't. So from the age of 13 and up, she has been forced to lie and appear as if she is wealthier than she is. Not that she minds, since she would rather prefer all her peers to think she is rich. But honestly, it puts a strain on her, even though she won't admit it.
Her childhood wasn't filled with any horrible disasters, thankfully, it was quite calm from what she can recall. Her parents made her take art classes, dance classes, and violin classes -- all of which she wasn't very good at. It was because of a remark said to her by her father, about how she needed to work hard in order to get what she wants, which made her the determined person that she is today. She wouldn't even know this was the cause, as the memory is etched deep within her brain, but its there all right. Soon after this, she began to practice more and improve in all three of these lessons. She still, as hobbies go, enjoys sketching, dancing, and playing the violin.
She's not very close with either of her parents, as her father is always on some business trip or another. And her mother is too busy wondering which drapes would look best in the dining room. Her brother Christopher, she loves, but he doesn't always seem to have the time for her as well. Though she loves them dearly, and knows that they love her just as much. Besides, who needs human love when she was raised with getting everything that she wanted?? Though, that's not as much the case now with the decrease in cash, but her parents often find ways to buy their daughter whatever she desires.
