Personality:
At first glance, Maddox appears to be a reserved and soft-spoken person. In his everyday life, he divides his energy between his studies and Quidditch. He doesn't have a lot of friends, probably about five or so. He also doesn't have a lot of enemies and those that he does consider enemies don't even realize his dislike for them. Yes, Maddox is probably one of the most unassuming people in the world. He is loyal to those friends that he does have, and he holds his family as his number one priority. Maddox has a desire to be well-liked by everyone and will always try to get someone's approval. One of the more blatant examples of this is his interaction with Lorelai Wellington. She doesn't like him and really, she doesn't like many people. Still, Maddox keeps trying to get her to accept him, and I don't really know why.
He does have his issues though. With nine siblings, it's hard to really stand out but Maddox managed that by being the only magical kid in the bunch. At home he's special because he's a wizard and that's part of his identity. This clashes a lot with his identity at Hogwarts, however. Maddox is definitely a wallflower and he has a really difficult time getting any recognition or attention at all. Of course, his family knows nothing of this and believes that he is thriving at school, even though most of his peers don't even know that he exists. Only the people close to him really see his worth. This often results in Maddox attempting to be useful to everyone around him and really, if anyone asked him for a favour, he'd do it.
Fighting and dueling are probably his least favourite things about Hogwarts. Maddox is very passive and will avoid confrontation like the plague. He doesn't like to argue or express his opinions, especially if they are different from the status quo.
Maddox is a muggleborn, obviously. This does not sit well with himself and he often feels ashamed of that. This has been instilled in him by the hundreds of times he's been called a mudblood or been ridiculed because he really fails at Charms.
Despite the mocking, he is a rather forgiving person. Basically, he likes to give everyone at least five chances. Possibly more.
Strengths: Both magical and personality:
Magical: Potions. Maddox pwns at Potions. He is extremely detail-oriented and precise. He's like one of those science nerds that you see in your chemistry classes? Or.. yknow, Matt. Maddox thrives on details and certainty. He likes to know that if he puts X amount of A into a cauldron full of X amount of B, C always happens. He also enjoys Astronomy, Arithmancy and Muggle Studies. Consistence and Constants are what he really likes about those subjects.
Personality: Maddox is very caring, loving and giving. He's extremely loyal to those that he loves and although he isn't a fighter, he will be there to support his friends and listen to their problems. For certain people, he'll pretty much drop everything he's doing just to be there for them. I think we all know who that is. Oh Mads.
Weaknesses: Both magical and personality:
Magical: Oh, about anything with a wand, he fails at. He really has a serious problem with Charms, Transfiguration and ... um, whatever else is wand-related. (Yes, take that whichever way you'd like...)
Personality: He's a big failure, really. He doesn't stand up for himself, he loathes Lucas Longshore but Lucas doesn't even realize it. When he's annoyed at someone he rarely says anything until it all comes tumbling out of his mouth in a jumbled mess. He's a self-hating mudblood, he has several complexes... He can be very bitter about things out of his control. He dwells on things and over-analyzes. Basically he can be the bad type of Ravenclaw, that worries about things out of his control.
Fears/Motivations: Maddox is very close to his family and because he's Muggleborn, He's afraid of something ever happening to him. They're the most important thing to him, so if anything happened to them, he would be devastated. Also, bees. He's very afraid of bees which is something he has a tendency to forget about until he actually encounters one.
History: Maddox was born in Liverpool to an already large family. As he was presumed to be a Muggle, he never once expected anythinng terribly exciting to happen to him, especially with so many siblings. He lead a normal childhood, never doing anything considered to be imaginative or outspoken. Quiet and timid, Mads appeared every inch a regular Muggle boy. It wasn't until he began experiencing the typical 'funny business' experienced by all wizards, that he began to wonder if he was in fact, different from the rest of his siblings.
